Chapter 31

One week later

Yubin finally returned home with Gahyeon. Things were as usual- Yubin updated her castle newsletter, Siyeon trained more knights with Yoohyeon, Bora took care of more kingdom matters, etc. However, after what YooA told her about an apparent secret bunker in the woods close to the castle, Yubin was left with many, many questions. She would be just as involved as Bora, since they were family. Unfortunately, YooA didn't have many answers, since Yuqi didn't tell her many things about it.

"Yuqi told me that Queen Bora's parents' assistant was working for her and the Neverlanders. That's how she was able to find out about the bunker where they were hiding and how they were successfully assassinated," YooA told Yubin.

"But where exactly is this bunker?" Yubin asked.

"I don't know. I'm pretty sure Yuqi didn't want me to know, since she knew I was Grand Master and could escape one day. I also think that the assistant died too, after the betrayal, so nobody else knew. It's underground, too, so it will be pretty hard to find."

Yubin was determined to find this bunker. It could have all sorts of things in it. Because only the royal family knew about it and Bora was supposed to know about it, it also seemed very important. It could have clues about the death of Bora's parents (who were Yubin's aunt and uncle). It could have scrolls about some unknown history. It could have information about the corruption of Neverland Kingdom and how they were able to destroy so many surrounding kingdoms.

Yubin wanted to tell Bora, but Yubin was sure that she would drag other people into this, such as Siyeon or Yoohyeon. The bunker was a family matter. But Siyeon would join the family one day... right? Yubin didn't want others to get involved in royal family matters, not even Minji and Handong, who had both been by Bora's side by years. If confidential information got out to the public, it would be a disaster.

She would have to think about this for a while.

Yoohyeon was curious about what happened in Miracle Kingdom with Binnie. Yubin did include some information in her newsletter (ex: Binnie killed herself, JinE died, Sera, Jimin, and Gahyeon were injured but survived, there were all sorts of traps in the dungeon, etc.), but Yoohyeon wanted to know more. She was naturally curious and wondered what Gahyeon's dungeon experience was like.

Yoohyeon was finally able to take her 40-minute break after hours of training. She made her way to Yubin (and Gahyeon)'s office to have a chat. She knocked on the door.

"Who is it?" Yubin responded, sounding a bit tired.

"Grand Master, it's me, Commander Yoohyeon."

"Well, come in! We're friends, I already told you, so no need for the formalities if we're not in public, Yoohyeon!" Yubin said as Gahyeon opened the door. Yoohyeon walked inside and sat on the guest chair.

"So what brings you here today during break?" Yubin asked Yoohyeon.

"Nothing much. After hearing about Gahyeon's situation with Binnie, I got a little intrigued," Yoohyeon replied.

"Oh? Intrigued?" Yubin replied.

"Yeah. I wonder what happened in that secret room. Gahyeon, did she do anything bad to you?" Yoohyeon looked at Gahyeon.

"Not really. Like Sera said, Binnie isn't- wasn't- sadistic. She just kept me locked up in the cell and threatened to kill us if we talked during her visits. She apparently refilled food once or twice a month, and she made sure to install water pipe-things. I'm sure she's much better than Yuqi," Gahyeon answered.
