My Knight in Shining Armor || A Suayeon Fanfic

Chapter 26

Siyeon realized that Jiho was also drinking with Seunghee and Binnie that night. Something could've happened to her! However, if she went now, Bora would definitely notice that she thought Binnie was suspicious. She would also question how Siyeon knew about Jiho. Siyeon sighed. However, she wanted to take an opportunity to discuss this with Yubin. At the party, they were both able to talk about their suspicions.

"Bora? May I talk with Yubin privately?" she asked.

"Certainly," Bora replied. She dismissed her guards and stepped inside the castle, closing the door to leave Yubin and Siyeon alone with the body.

"This is definitely Binnie's work," Siyeon handed the note to Yubin. "She erased the last part of this suicide letter to Queen Hyojung, but if you bring it closer to the sun, you can make out what it says."

Yubin examined the note several times, reading it over and over. Finally, she pocketed it and looked back at Siyeon.

"Advisor Seunghee stabbed herself in a hurry. Binnie must've drugged the drink that she gave her to make her go insane or something." Yubin told Siyeon.

"Also, advisor Seunghee wasn't the only one with Binnie yesterday night. Advisor Jiho was, too..." Siyeon added.

"Oh, no! What if it's already too late?!? We've got to go! But where?" Yubin exclaimed.

"She was stumbling towards the restroom during the party with the bottle in her hands... Let's go there!" Siyeon ran towards the Great Hall, where the party was held.

Jiho was found inside a bathroom stall, laying down on the cold floor. The beer bottle she was carrying last night was shattered, some of the liquid inside still visible on the floor tiles.

"Advisor Jiho!" Siyeon placed her hand on Jiho's chest. Luckily, her heart was still beating. Jiho was just unconscious. However, Siyeon could feel her heart rate decreasing.

"Her heart's about to stop beating! We need to take her to the medics immediately!" Siyeon carried Jiho. Yubin gathered some of the fallen liquor into a small vial in her pocket and followed Siyeon.

An hour later

Hyojung was crying over Seunghee's dead body in the garden. She felt so stupid for not suspecting Binnie earlier. Hyejin, one of her closest advisors that chose to stay at Miracle Kingdom, told her to watch out for Binnie right before she left. Hyojung never took it seriously, but now she knew that she needed to stay alert. After she read Seunghee's note, she collapsed onto the floor. Now, she finally had the strength to walk to the garden.

"Oh, Seunghee," Hyojung caressed Seunghee's blond hair. "You didn't have to go so soon... I should've told you that I liked you a long time ago. Things wouldn't have to end this way. We could've been happy together... If only you just knew..."

Hyojung hugged Seunghee's body tightly and bawled into her shoulder. Binnie, watching from behind, pretended to also be sad. She didn't know that Hyojung suspected her, however, and smiled behind her hands.

Noticing that Binnie was behind her, Hyojung made her voice as low as possible and whispered into Seunghee's ear.

"I promise that I will avenge you and make Binnie pay for what she did."

Jiho was finally awake and was notified of what happened to her. She was too weak to leave the hospital, however. She couldn't believe that it was Binnie who harmed her and killed Seunghee. However, she had to accept it as the truth. She felt betrayed. Binnie was always the one who helped file papers with her. Binnie was always the one who got Seunghee's tea ready in the morning. Binnie was always the one who would give Hyojung extra blankets when she was cold.

Now Jiho had a terrible stomachache and headache. She was glad that she was still alive. Who knows what might've happened to her if Yubin and Siyeon didn't arrive in time. To say she was shocked would be an understatement.

Binnie had betrayed them. She had stuck with them all these years to just backstab them. Jiho was very angry, since Seunghee was one of her close friends. Some scientists in the castle analyzed the drink that Binnie used to drug Seunghee and Jiho, and it was indeed drugged with a foreign ingredient that made people who consumed it become mentally unstable and eventually unconscious after several hours.

Once I get well again, I will not hesitate to kill that bitch Binnie, she thought. She curled her hand into a fist as she imagined the assistant's proud smirk in her head.

Hyojung decided to hold Seunghee's funeral the time they went back to Miracle Kingdom. They would bury her in the royal garden that was closest to Hyojung's sleeping quarters. She also told Bora about the incident, who later found out more because of Siyeon and Yubin. The four were still busy talking in a castle corridor. Unfortunately, Binnie had heard their conversation.

Damn it! They found out! I knew this was too easy to be true! Maybe I should've burned Seunghee's letter instead... she thought. She slowly crept away from the column she was hiding behind and walked back to her room. She gathered all her belongings, packed them in her bag, and ran. She had one last-minute thing that she wanted to do in order to survive.

If I can't kill Hyojung, I will get someone else. But who? Not a knight, they would easily escape. Not one of our advisors, they are useless now. Definitely not a queen, they have too much security right now. Wait a minute... Binnie realized something. There was one person she could target. She had never spoken to her, but she was respected in Insomnia Kingdom. She was the lover of a very important knight.

Binnie hid a knife in her pocket and smiled as she ran towards Yubin's office, where one person was busy filing documents, unwary of what was going to happen to her.
