Chapter 10 (TW)

The same Monday, 4 PM

Bora was finally free from signing documents and meeting with her advisors to discuss laws and politics. She realized that it was Siyeon's last day at the castle before she went to war. She had to see her!

Bora knew that Siyeon was probably training very hard in the fields. It was late in the afternoon, so she assumed that Siyeon was finished with training new knights. Bora walked to the fields where many knights were having fake duels. When she walked by, she saw some of the knights bow down to her, flustered, but she told them to get up- she wanted to surprise Siyeon.

The new knights told her that Siyeon was training with Mijoo near the woods. They led her down a path that reached a small outdoor arena. Bora could hear tired grunts and breathing. Siyeon must be really working hard, she thought. When she reached the arena and saw Siyeon dueling Mijoo in her armor, Bora's jaw dropped.

Siyeon was sweating. Her short, blue hair had glistening sweat buds, and the armor was shining in the sunlight. Siyeon looked hot. She was simply stunning. Bora gulped. Siyeon turned around and immediately bowed, with Mijoo following.

"Your Majesty, we never knew you would come down to the training areas." Mijoo said.

"It's fine. You may get up. I want a word with Siyeon, alone." Bora replied.

"As you wish, my Queen." Mijoo left the arena to go discuss with the other Knight Commanders.

Bora took Siyeon's hand, and they walked to a bench.

"You never told me how hot you look in armor... " Bora was still shocked.

"Don't flatter me, Bora! This is Knight Major armor. Just wait until you see me in Knight Commander armor that is metal-resistant!" Siyeon laughed.

"The war is tomorrow... " Bora sighed. She would be very stressed tomorrow. Yuqi was very determined and refused to give up, sending more men to fight.

"It's okay, Bora. You know how good of a fighter I am! I'm a Knight Major! Trust me, I won't die. I don't want to give up my promotion and my girl!"

Bora blushed. "I'm your girl, huh?"

"Oh, you're mine, Your Majesty!"

"No! I am the Queen, the ruler of where you are standing! You're mine!"

Bora placed soft kisses onto Siyeon's cheeks. Siyeon was startled by the sudden movement, but she gave in. A few seconds later, Siyeon suddenly crashed her lips onto Bora's and turned the tables.

"Now you're mine." Siyeon whispered into Bora's mouth. Bora whimpered in response. Siyeon's eyes were filled with lust and love. She pulled Bora closer. The sensation was addicting, like a drug. Bora was so, so beautiful, and Siyeon wanted to show her how much she loved her before she went away to war. However, she didn't want to take the relationship too fast, since they had just confessed yesterday. The kiss was slow, but passionate. Bora loved it as much as Siyeon did. They were both hooked. Bora's reactions to Siyeon were everything.

"You're so beautiful." Siyeon groaned.

Siyeon wanted to do one thing, though. She bit Bora's bottom lip, asking for permission to enter. Bora simply gave in and opened her mouth. As the kiss got deeper and deeper, Siyeon explored every part of Bora's mouth with her tongue. Bora let out a slight moan. Their tongues eventually battled for dominance, Bora determined to win. However, Siyeon took the lead and won instead. They continued making out passionately for a few more minutes. Siyeon suddenly pulled away when they heard gasps behind them.

"Oh my goodness!" Bora saw the bewildered looks on Mijoo, Amy, and Yongsun's faces. All of their mouths made "O" shapes. They saw Bora looking at them, and immediately bowed.

"Commanders! Many apologies!" Siyeon bowed to her seniors. Bora just hung her head.

"Get up, all of you!" Bora ordered. "H-How long were you here?"

"Since a few minutes ago." Amy replied, giggling.

"I'm terribly sorry, Commanders. I deserve to-" Siyeon began.

"You have a relationship with Her Majesty?!? That's amazing!" Mijoo was happy for the couple.

"R-Really?" Siyeon was confused. Wasn't kissing during training prohibited?

"Even if you have broken the no-love rule during training, the Queen is an... exception." Amy told Siyeon. "Don't worry, you still have a chance of getting promoted, Siyeon."

Siyeon was very relieved. "Thank you, Commanders!"

"There is one thing, though." Yongsun sternly said. Siyeon gulped. What now?

"Word is going to get out."

A bit before 10 PM

"Bora is fuming!" Minji said to Yoohyeon. Handong was currently in the royal hospital, since Yubin didn't trust any other place. Handong was currently unconscious, but there was still hope for her survival. "Now, she will certainly place a bunch of laws in the kingdom!"

"Goodness! I have to go to war tomorrow, and this happens?" Yoohyeon replied.

"Do well in that war, okay? I don't want to lose you," Minji hugged Yoohyeon, since it was almost 10 PM- the time for Bora to go to her sleeping quarters. Minji would do things like making her bed, turning off the lights, tucking her in, etc.

"I have to do well, Minji! I'm getting promoted after it!" Yoohyeon hugged Minji back. The two had been very close the last couple of weeks. They were the best of friends. Yoohyeon felt that she liked Minji even more than Siyeon, who was her roommate for many years. She was glad that she had trained hard today, but would it pay off?

The next day, about 2 PM

Siyeon was taking down Yuqi's men. She was doing phenomenally well! Even though many knights from Insomnia Kingdom were getting wounded and each one of them getting sent back for treatment, Siyeon refused to give up. One of her favorite rookie knights, Jo Serim, was unfortunately stabbed through the heart and died in an instant. Siyeon made sure to ruthlessly end Serim's attacker's life.

Siyeon spotted Yuqi watching the battle from a corner, a very visible frown on her face because of how terrible her men were doing. Vengeance surged through Siyeon's head, thinking of her mother's death and her separation from Bora all those years back. Yuqi was one of Soyeon's most trusted advisors. There were even rumors that the two were in love. However, money, greed, and power took over Yuqi's mind, and she sided with Soojin. Soojin eventually influenced over half of the people in the castle, and they all teamed up to assassinate Soyeon.

Siyeon was very angry at those memories. How could Yuqi betray her lover like that? She impaled an enemy with her sword, wiped it on the ground, then ran towards Yuqi. Her silver armor had multiple bloodstains. She was so close and was about to snatch Yuqi when she felt a sword pierce her armor and enter her back. She screamed at the unexpected pain.

"SIYEON!" Yoohyeon's yell was heard.

"NOOOO!" Mijoo's cry was also heard.

Siyeon smiled through the pain. She struggled to get up and swung her sword to slit her attacker's neck, killing her instantly. Then, she felt everything start to fade.

"Bora..." she mumbled, smiling as she pictured her lover inside her mind. "I'm sorry..."

Her eyes closed. The last thing she saw was multiple knights putting her onto a horse, headed back to the castle.
