Chapter 12 (TW)

Again, there is blood

About two weeks later

Bora was not allowed to enter the hospital, since it was filled with injured knights. There were many deaths, but luckily, Siyeon was stabbed in the liver, and not many blood vessels were destroyed. Her strong Knight Major armor prevented the enemy's sword from going in deeper. She was predicted to fully recover in about a few days' time.

Handong was already recovered from her stabbing. Tzuyu was in a hurry while attempting to kill her, so she didn't properly stab Handong in the stomach. Not many blood vessels were destroyed, too, and Handong was doing pretty well. Yubin made sure to torture Tzuyu in unimaginable ways after seeing Gahyeon's reaction.

Yongsun updated Bora with letters every three days. The latest one was yesterday's. Amy got stabbed in the spleen, more knights died, etc. But the thing that was most important was that Yuqi had less than 200 men left! The war would be ending soon!

Bora was busy sitting in her throne room, thinking about all that had happened. She successfully imprisoned every possible threat inside and outside the castle, besides Yuqi herself. Bora decided that she would kill Yuqi instead of imprisoning her, since Yuqi was calculating and was an old threat that knew Bora well.

Yoohyeon was promoted to Knight Commander two days ago, after Yubin saw Mijoo's letters of praise. She held a small feast with Minji, Bora, and the knights she were training that were serving in the castle. They also celebrated Yoohyeon's new relationship with Minji, since they decided to become official last Saturday.

Siyeon was scheduled to leave the hospital in two days. Bora couldn't wait. 48 hours seemed so long when you wanted them to pass by faster. She wondered if Siyeon had to leave the knights completely due to her injury. Many wounded knights couldn't pick up a sword or walk properly after they got discharged from the hospital.

These would be the longest two days of Bora's life.

"Siyeon, that sounds epic! Bora would be so happy! Are you sure, though? Your condition-"

"Yoo, this is fine. My wound is perfectly fine now. I'm so glad that I killed that scum before I blacked out! Look at me. I can stand up properly. I can still run. I can do the splits. I'm back to normal! Even better, since you got promoted, I'm sure that I'm getting promoted, too!" Siyeon was talking with Yoohyeon in her hospital room. When she would get discharged in two days, it would be the best day of her life. Not only would she get the promotion she's worked so hard for, she would also reunite with Bora. In fact, she had prepared a little something for that.

After Siyeon gets discharged, Minji would fill Bora up with tasks for the entire day, so Siyeon could get ready for a very special moment. Siyeon would be dressed in her brand-new, stunning Knight Commander armor with a new hair color: blonde (she would dye it during the daytime). She would be standing near the fountain in that one royal garden where she and Bora first met as children. She would be holding a bouquet of pink roses and a pretzel from the royal kitchens (for the memories).

Pink rose petals would make a path from Bora's throne room to the fountain, set up right before Bora would be released, so she wouldn't notice them. It sounded perfect. This would be the time for Siyeon to ask to be Bora's girlfriend. It would also be 9 PM, an hour before Bora's bedtime, so less people would be there to disturb them. When the time would strike, Minji would free Bora of her duties, open the door, and accompany Bora to the fountain. She could not wait to see Bora's facial expressions. It would be so romantic!

Minji asked Yoohyeon to be her girlfriend in a similar way. She blindfolded Yoohyeon and took her to the Great Hall, where they met during the banquet. The same chocolate pastries they both liked would be set up in a heart array. Blue rose petals were set on the floor in the shape of a heart, too. When Minji took off Yoohyeon's blindfold, her reaction was everything. Minji gave her heartwarming speech and question, which Yoohyeon happily accepted. The new couple put a small breadstick in between their mouths, ate it, and kissed (A/N: pepero game!!). The two then spent their night eating food and sweets to their hearts' content.

Yoohyeon was more than willing to help her friend become official with Bora. Minji was right next to her, too. Siyeon was very nervous. She had been trying to come up with a good speech to impress Bora, but Bora was a queen. Would she accept?

"Gahyeon! Handong! Minji and Yoo said that Siyeon is going to ask Bora to be her girlfriend!" Yubin was at Handong's manor as usual, giving her castle news.

"Oh my goodness, really?!?" Gahyeon was very excited. "Dongie, did you know?"

"Of course I knew! I was in the room next to Siyeon's in the hospital! She's going to dye her hair blonde and wear her new armor... wait. Yubin, did you promote her yet?" Handong asked Yubin.

"Of course I did! Mijoo said that Siyeon was doing very well during the battle. I've also checked her progress, and she deserves a raise! Boy, oh boy, if Bora thinks that Siyeon looks hot in Knight Major armor, she's gonna think that Siyeon looks SMOKING HOT in Knight Commander armor!" Yubin giggled. She usually wasn't this excited over relationships, but she shipped Bora and Siyeon so much.

The day before Siyeon went to war (the only day she had with Bora as her lover), Yubin noticed that the two were so lovey-dovey with each other that it was very obvious. Word had gotten out very easily, and the majority of the castle shipped the two. They would give each other quick pecks on the cheeks, and when Yubin heard of their makeout session during Siyeon's duel with Mijoo, she was very, very excited. That day, she couldn't believe that Bora and Siyeon were so physical with each other when they confessed just yesterday.

"Siyeonie said that she would confess in front of a FOUNTAIN, with ROSE PETALS!! It's SO ROMANTIC!! Who cares about plays when I could just watch those two? That's not even the only couple we have! We have Minji and Yoohyeon! Man, this year is one crazy one!" Handong was giggling with glee. She loved a good romance.

"What if there was a third couple?" Handong giggled even more as she pictured Yubin and Gahyeon's wedding.

"Third couple? Who? Hey, why are you giggling so much? Do we know them?" Gahyeon was curious.

"Oh, yes. You certainly know them well!" Handong chuckled while raising her eyebrows. Yubin suddenly knew what her friend meant.

"Handong!! Stop it!!" Yubin pictured kissing Gahyeon passionately inside her head. She was blushing real hard.

Gahyeon noticed. "What's the matter, Yubinie?"

Yubin was beyond flustered. She needed to escape. "I-I need to go to the bathroom!"

Handong was laughing so much that her stomach started to hurt. As Yubin fled the scene, Gahyeon was left very confused.

"Dongie, what was that for?"

"Oh, Gahyeon. You haven't noticed?"

"Noticed what?"

Handong rolled her eyes at Gahyeon being so oblivious. "Yubin likes you, too."
