Chapter 17

Siyeon told Bora about her experience with Yuqi. It was quite similar to Yujin's- she would get tortured every two hours, unlike Yujin, who got tortured every single hour. Yuqi attempted to get information out of her. Siyeon refused, causing even more torture. She was happy that she was only in that place for less than a day, but the damage to her body and the trauma that Yuqi gave her had been done. She would be taking a brief break from her duties as a Knight Commander.

Besides the physical torture, which was bad enough, Yuqi upset and mock Siyeon often during her torture by talking about Bora and her fantasies of torturing the young ruler (Yuqi made sure to include all the grisly details unfortunately), and about Yuqi sending her letter to the castle. Yuqi would also rub in Siyeon's mother's death and how Siyeon's mindless decision to enter the courtroom that night proved that "she were incredibly dumb". Bora made sure to scold Siyeon a little about that. Hearing about how Yuqi would ruin Bora would make Siyeon cry for hours.

After hearing about the physical and mental torture, Bora felt very sorry for Sooyeon. However, Sooyeon had probably gone through worse treatment during the old war, so Bora knew that Sooyeon wouldn't be too broken. She also felt sorry for Siyeon. They were both separated and were longing for each other. They craved each other's touch and kiss, but Siyeon was still injured and when she moved, her back and stomach hurt because of the big cut on it and the many scars left from Yuqi's whip. Her pinky was also in the process of healing, since Yuqi broke it. The moment Siyeon would be discharged, she would immediately go to Bora and give her the time of her life. Even though she had only seen Bora naked once, her body was like a drug. She wanted it so bad. She wanted to leave so many marks and kisses on Bora's flawless skin. She was pretty sure that Bora felt the exact same. Siyeon would be released in three days, but it felt like nine.

Gahyeon was now even closer to Yubin. Ever since that fateful lunch where they confessed their feelings about each other, Gahyeon would give Yubin sneaky hugs and pokes when they sorted documents together, even though it had only been a few weeks since they confessed. Yubin now easily got flustered because of Gahyeon's many "attacks", to Gahyeon's amusement.

One day, Gahyeon was up to her usual "sneak attacks" on Yubin. When Yubin was busys reading her castle news article, Gahyeon gave her a back hug. Yubin noticed, and turned around to face the girl to ask a question she was dying to ask.

"Gahyeon?" Yubin held Gahyeon's hands with a serious-looking expression. Gahyeon noticed and grew worried.

"Yeah?" Gahyeon replied.

Yubin gripped her hands tightly. "You've always been giving me little hugs these days."

"That's right."

"But do you really mean it? I've been wondering about this ever since that lunch. Do you like me just because I'm strong, rich, and have a deep voice? Are your feelings real?" Yubin asked Gahyeon.

Gahyeon's heart felt attacked. Why was Yubin so oblivious?

"My feelings are real, Yubin. You're nice, sweet, and compassionate. You're the one who really made me feel like I have a purpose in the world. Yes, your voice is so handsome, but you're one of the few people who truly understand me." Gahyeon replied. It was all true. Only a few people truly understood the real her.

Yubin was relieved. She saw the sincerity in Gahyeon's eyes and pulled her in for a hug. Yubin was one to not necessarily like physical affection, but with Gahyeon, it felt... different. Now that Yubin knew what the latter's true feelings/intentions were, she wanted to take it a tiny step further.

"I'm glad, Gahyeonie. I'm so, so glad." Yubin smiled and locked eyes with Gahyeon. Their lips were only a few centimeters away. Gahyeon knew what Yubin wanted, but this would be her first time. It would also be Yubin's first time, but she had watched many plays with the others when they were younger. Gahyeon wasn't rich enough to see any of those, and she never knew the experience or what it really looked like. It was a kiss.

"A-Are you sure?" Gahyeon asked hesitantly.

"Absolutely. Do you want it?" Yubin asked.

"Yes," Gahyeon still felt unsure, but Yubin's deep and calming voice made it sound safe.

Yubin wasted no time and planted her lips onto Gahyeon's. Gahyeon melted into the kiss and wrapped her arm around Yubin's neck. Yubin's kiss was filled with so much emotion- love and gratefulness. Gahyeon wrapped her legs around Yubin's waist lovingly. Yubin was about to bite Gahyeon's lip, asking for permission for her tongue to enter, when the door burst open.

"Yubinnn! We haven't- oh!" Handong saw the scene that was in front of her very eyes. Gahyeon was the first to notice and immediately ducked behind Yubin's desk.

"I was going to say that we haven't met in a while, and boy, oh boy, time has passed! Gahyeon, you can come out, it's me." Handong was thrilled to know that her ship existed. Yubin, her face bright red because of the embarrassment, replied with a nod. Gahyeon sighed, relieved that it was Handong and nobody else.

"You were very right, Dongie," Gahyeon stepped out from behind Yubin's desk.

"I know." Handong replied.

"Right about what?" Yubin was curious.

"Right about the fact that you like me back." Gahyeon's heart was fluttering. She walked closer to Yubin, giving her a small side hug.

"Awww, so you liked me since the beginning!" Yubin hugged Gahyeon back. Handong clapped her hands at the sight.

"You guys are so cute together! I never thought that Gahyeon would be able to make Yubin so flustered!" Handong laughed. "And! Gahyeonie! You just had your first kiss! How was it? I never experienced one, and I probably never will."

"It felt a bit weird, but then great... I can't describe it!" Gahyeon's face turned red. Handong laughed even more.

"That's fine! I can't wait to see more of this!" Handong felt like she was watching the fluffiest romance play in her life. The three ladies chatted for a few more minutes before Handong had to go back to her manor.
