Chapter 5

Back to the present

Siyeon had just finished explaining tearfully about that terrible, life-changing afternoon to Bora. Bora now understood. It wasn't in Siyeon's father's control. The two would still never forgive him, since he constantly abused Siyeon when she was little. The two reminisced their past, good or bad, for many hours. It wasn't until Yoohyeon returned at around 5 PM that they stopped.

Yoohyeon returned, expecting to see Siyeon alone, ready to spill the beans about her talk with the Queen. When she opened her dormitory's door, however, Bora and Siyeon were laughing about one of their past experiences. Startled by the intrusion, the two women flinched.

"Many apologies, Your Majesty, I didn't know you were still in the dorm," Yoohyeon bowed.

"It's okay, Yoohyeon. Get up! We can be friends, too, and I have to thank you for taking care of my Singnie all these years!" Bora told Yoohyeon. Siyeon blushed. The Knight Major was very shocked. Her? Friends with the Queen? How could she decline?

"I- I would love to be friends, Your Majesty," Yoohyeon replied to Bora.

"You seem like a nice girl! You can also just call me Bora. How old are you, Yoohyeon?" Bora asked.

"Twenty-three."

"Wow! She is even younger than you, Singnie!" Bora exclaimed. "Nice meeting you, Yoohyeon," she shook hands with the tall girl. Yoohyeon, too shocked (and slightly confused) to give a reply, just nodded.

"Oh my goodness! It's 5 PM already? I totally forgot about a banquet I was going to throw in honor of my anniversary of defeating Neverland Kingdom!" Bora realized.

"I'm sorry for taking up so much of your time! If you need to leave, you may! Uh, talk later?" Siyeon said to Bora.

"I have a few seats left vacant, so... wanna attend the banquet with me?" Bora invited the two knights.

"Siyeon! D-Did you hear that? Attend a royal banquet?!?" Yoohyeon licked her lips, imagining the tasty food that was to come. "Come on, accept! Hurry!" she whispered. Bora chuckled at the sight. So Yoohyeon is one of those girls who has an undying love for eating. How interesting, she thought.

"O-Of course, Bora!" Siyeon replied.

"Great! Meet me in the Great Hall by 5:45! Can't wait to see you!" Bora waved, then left the room to prepare. As soon as the door shut and she heard the elevator go back to floor one, Yoohyeon interrogated Siyeon.

"Spill! What happened between you two?"

5:40 PM

"It's been nearly 40 minutes and you haven't even decided on an outfit?" Yoohyeon scolded her roommate.

"This is my first royal banquet ever!! I need to look good!" Siyeon replied.

"This is my first royal banquet too, so stop staring at those dresses and just pick one."

Siyeon sighed, then finally chose to wear a simple black dress with some slight mesh. She stepped out of the bathroom, saw Yoohyeon's very elegant long white dress, and felt horribly underdressed.

"You look..." Yoohyeon began.

"Yes, I know, this looks terrible-"

"... beautiful," Yoohyeon was dumbfounded. "You sure you can wear this to a royal banquet without catching everyone's eyes, lone wolf?"

"Yoo! You're only making me more nervous!" Siyeon chuckled. "Shall we start heading down?"

The two knights went down the elevator and walked over to the Great Hall, where all royal banquets were held. Royal banquets were rarely held. They were only held to celebrate special events, anniversaries and birthdays. As expected, Bora was there early, setting things up. She was wearing a long lace white dress that exposed some of her cleavage.
