***Time skip To the Meeting***
"Alright. Now turn around, arms raised."
Gojo resisted the urge to roll his eyes. Even if he was wearing his sunglasses his blue eyes would still show starkly. For now he had to hold his tongue.
His butler was tying the last of his yukata from the back. "Do I look fine now, kaa-sama?" He was making a decent effort to not sound sarcastic.
"Just about my son. And get rid of those ridiculous sunglasses. You'll be meeting your in-laws tonight," his mother pursed her lips.
If it were his choice he'd have gladly strolled in there in sweats and called it a day. The likelihood of him seeing more of whoever this girl was would be minimal. And why did everything have to be so traditional? A suit and tie would be better than this. Gojo could only huff as he folded his glasses and tucked it into his robes. He had to slightly squint at his mother. "Happy?"
"You shouldn't frowning! You're going to meet your future wife, something your father and I have worked to make happen for you. Only the best for my son," His mother instructed. He found it ironic. As a child he was taught to mask his emotions, not like he made an effort to, now he's being asked to show them. "You were born with these eyes for a reason my son. You should show them more."
I didn't choose to be this prodigy nor have these eyes. But he only smiled and nodded.
Sitting inside the car he rested his elbow on the rest, and touched his knuckles to his mouth while he looked out the window. His other hands was on his knee, tapping uncomfortably. He could feel the scrutinizing eyes of his father.
"Tou-sama...this marriage. She's from a powerful clan no? What does this marriage mean?"
"Probably one of the most important things you'll do in this life. That and fix history's mistake."
Gojo paused. He hated it when his father spoke in riddles. There were hundreds of ways to interpret that.
Gojo chose to block out any sound, barely make out his mother's voice, talking about how long his hair had gotten. Had it? He hadn't noticed. But it helped to cover his eyes sometimes which he was grateful for.
He stepped out the car to look up at a pretty building. Why not gorgeous or beautiful you might ask? It was short, a private little thing. Not some bright and shining observatory. But he took one glance at the security and he knew this would be a quiet place with no interruptions.
As he walked down the hallway near the gardens his eyebrows furrowed. He knew this was a powerful family, his parents told him as such. But behind those doors were people who held an immense amount of cursed energy. It was sort of overwhelming actually the amount of power that would be behind those doors after his family entered the fray as well. He almost wouldn't be able to appreciate the twinkling lights.
So Gojo opted to stare at the floor, a sight a bit more welcoming to his eyes. He waited for his parents to step into the garden before he, too walked in to meet his fate.
When he made eye contact with his future wife, his heart dropped. The world around him started to fade, dropping into infinity. His lips parted in complete shock and disbelief.
He had braced himself for someone hideous. Someone bland who didn't care for him. Someone noisy who would probably bother him when he came home in the wee hours of the morning after a tiring mission. Someone conceited and only wanted him for his looks or power.
Instead he was staring into familiar tired eyes, curtained by long dark lashes, painted with the darkest of eyeliner, pink and red rouge. She wore a red a gold kimono adorned with dazzling flowers. But it wasn't worn traditionally, showcasing shoulders he had never laid eyes on before. Her long ebony hair was tied up into effortless curls. There were strands left out to frame her angelic face. To top it off, a bright red flowered kanzashi pinned everything together. There didn't appear to be excessive make up on her, perhaps a light blush coating her cheeks, and her lips stained red. They were parted as shocked as his. It looked so unlike her.
