Kumori had made sure to wake up early that morning. Possibly for the same reasons as last month, but nevertheless she found herself waking up early. What she didn't realize was that she didn't need to put her body through that torture.

She sat up in bed and turned, expecting to find tufts of white hair lying next to her but instead found the spot vacant. Not an unusual sight to behold since they were both busy, but today was also sort of special. And Kumori knew that him of all people cared more for it than her. So to find the spot empty without him was odd.

Kumori narrowed her eyes at the spot, half expecting him to pop out of a corner or something and scare her. But as she went through her usual routine she couldn't find traces of him either.  She rubbed his side of the bed only to find it cool, signifying his even earlier departure, or he never even made it into bed last night. Kumori wondered if he would be busy all day or something.

She finished tying her navy blue sash around her waist as she entered the kitchen only to stop at the sight before her. Sitting on the dining table was a full course Japanese breakfast, all warmed and still steaming. She hesitantly krept closer to the table, unsure who could've made it without her knowing. But when she lifted the singular note that held the familiar handwriting, she felt her heart warm a bit. When she set the note down she used surveyor throughout their house, wondering if he was still there. But she guessed he had ample amount of time to get all this done and get out while she had her shower.

Sit and have a bite for once! I know you probably don't get a real lunch normally 😉.

Kumori smiled as she sat down in front of the breakfast. A part of her rolled her eyes since she knew he probably didn't either. She glanced at the clock once and deemed that the time she had was adequate enough for to be able to enjoy the food and make it to school in time.

When Kumori arrived at the school she went straight to the principal's office as usual. But instead of a pile of mission requests, her inbox was relatively empty minus the unfamiliar manila envelope and the cup of coffee sitting next to it.

"Does that–"

"Black two sugars. At least that's what he told me to tell you," Yaga glanced up from his position behind his desk.

Kumori pursed her lip as she stared at the coffee. She didn't know whether to trust coffee that Gojo got her. And it appeared that her old sensei was thinking the same thing. "You're not gonna know if you don't try it," he said.

"I suppose you're right," Kumori sighed as she brought the cup up to her mouth. She felt a wave of relief when she realized that the cup was indeed black with two sugars. "You know I expected him to dump a shit ton of work like I did to him."

"I thought so too. But he also told me to tell you not to open that envelope until after school, and to stay on college grounds until then."

Kumori rolled her eyes. "You know if I asked him to do that he'd never listen. The only reason why that works is because I'm mature enough to listen."

"I know. But you don't have to work today if you don't want to," he pointed out. Kumori only shrugged.

"I like my job you know. I'll just watch the kids as I give them a day off or something. It's a Sunday," Kumori said as she walked out of the office.

As she walked the halls of Jujutsu Tech she had to tuck the manila folder into her uniform since passing students and colleagues would give her gifts. By the time she got to the garden where all her students were, her hands were entirely full.

"Erm...senpai?" They stared at her as they tilted their heads.

"Just gimme a sec," she said as she quickly tapped her foot, opening a shadow circle to gently toss the gifts into her room. When she emptied her hands she gave a sigh and a smile as she waved to her students. "Day off sounds good? Meet you all at the training grounds."
