"Y'know I thought you were training with Satoru? I didn't take much offense since learning new things is good. And he's pretty lenient. So what are you doing back here if you only got shittier?"

Megumi glared up at her from his spot on the bamboo floor. Kumori loved the traditional dojo versus the western style gyms. The only light in the dojo's were natural light, which she preferred. Kumori only looked expectantly down at him to respond.

"He got too annoying," He grumbled as he dusted himself off. "And I think I get more work done with you."

"Okay," Kumori nodded understanding. She squatted down to face him, the staff still in between her legs. "Or he said something you didn't wanna hear."

Megumi raised a hand to run through his erratic hair, tugging the roots a bit. "Normally I would agree with you but that's not it today."

They stayed silent for awhile, just staring, daring the other to say something. "I'm waiting," she said.

He only glared at her annoyed. "He said something about me not being able to be my strongest or whatever."

Kumori blinked a few times before giving a light laugh, a sight very uncommon for her. She raised a hand to his head, and flicked his forehead.

"Ow! The fuck was that for?" He yelped as he clutched his poor head.

"For being an idiot," Kumori sighed her blank face on again. "Not saying Satoru's never an idiot either, it's just he's right this time."

Megumi looked down as he still clutched his head. "I know."

Kumori's eyes scanned the boy's demeanor and sighed again, turning her head away to stare at the window. "Look, if it's any consultation I would've had the same problem you're having now if I had your upbringing."

He glanced at her. "What do you mean?"

"Satoru and I think alike, but we also think all the more differently. He's right saying you have so much potential, you've just got tunneled vision right now. You think that just because you've got one move that will win everything you can put off somethings aside," She turned to face him again.  "It's okay to think like that. I think like that because my technique makes me fight selfishly. You're a selfish fighter too, Megumi, you just don't know it yet. Mahoraga does make you need to fight by yourself. But at the same time you're wishing to throw it all away for your friends. Being selfless is nice and all but it's keeping you rooted."

"I thought you said you didn't want me using that?" Megumi raised a brow.

Kumori stayed silent for a moment. The world around them was changing rapidly– more than she had anticipated. She knew he was getting antsy to rise up after seeing how much Itadori had grown. "I said not to do it because you weren't ready. I don't doubt that you'll surpass me one day or at least get to my level, but when that day comes I'll make sure you're alive to see it," she said.

"Reliance is okay, but reliance on a singular skill leaves more gaps for others to get to you," She said. "But I think you know that."

Kumori raised a hand to his forehead, the boy flinching a bit anticipating the next flick she was gonna make, but froze when he felt a soothing sensation. "You should've told me I flicked you that hard," she clicked her tongue.

Megumi rolled his eyes. "Normal people don't flick that hard."

Kumori got up from her squatting position and flipped her staff into a resting position. "Satoru and Itadori told me you had a domain expansion? Show me."

Megumi rubbed the back of his head. "It's not complete yet," he grumbled.

"And? I wanna see what my cousin's concocted at such a young age. I don't think I know anyone your age right now who's even come close to a domain other than Miwa's simple," Kumori said. "Though, I don't think you're arrogant enough to think that's an accomplishment."
