"Did you change your ribbon, Iori-san?" Kumori asked as she sipped her tea. Mei Mei was sitting behind her in the surveillance theater. Utahime sat beside Kumori.

Utahime touched the ribbon behind her head that was keeping wisps of hair out of her face, unconsciously. "Yeah I guess. Just felt like it today, you know?"

"Say...where's Shoko?" Mei scanned her eyes across the room of teachers and principals. Gojo was sitting beside Kumori, the principals in the far back watching over everything.

"Still setting up the medic tents. I asked her if she wanted me there too but she dismissed me," Kumori huffed. "And she was yelling at me to get here on time."

Another explosion came from the screen of the TV prompting everyone's attention. It was a fight between Maki and Miwa. Kumori felt the corners of mouth curve up. Maki read Miwa's attacks with a breeze, splitting her staff and chucking it at the girl. Then she reached under her skirt for a kunai.

"Could I borrow one of your guards?" Maki asked the girl. Kumori was just checking up on them before they went off to fight.

Kumori raised a brow. "Why would you need to? You like handsy weapons versus small ones," Kumori pointed out. Nevertheless she still reached down to unclip her guard since it was the quickest one to get. "I thought you and Megumi were teaming for this reason."

"Yeah, but I can't always expect him to be tailing me," Maki responded. "Could we go weapons shopping after this?"

"I'll bring Mei Mei too, kay?" Kumori smirked as she patted the girl on the back as she let her go back to her teammates.

"Maki's grown hasn't she? Shouldn't she at least be a grade 2 now?" Mei observed from her seat. She had her head resting on her hand.

"Yeah but her family has been getting in a way," Gojo answered.

Mei raised a brow. "And you can't doing anything about it, Kumori-chan?"

Kumori gave out a sigh. "I've been pushing for it since her first year, but my clan has been buying anyone who's willing to make the requests. They haven't been listening to me ever since I fought for Saori."

"Pshh this business about clans must really suck for you lot. May alliance is the one with the money," Mei said coyly.

As Kumori laid her eyes on each monitor, she couldn't seem to find Itadori anywhere. His fight with Toudou was on screen, but they were barely in the camera. Kumori also secretly used surveyor in the beginning of the match, before Mei Mei showed up, and was surprised to find all the Kyoto students packed in one place.

Kumori moved her eyes to the side, in the direction of Kyoto principal's. For a higher up, he was pretty reckless in her opinion. They were only kids, and giving them an assassination mission already? She had to conceal her smirk. At least she had beat months worth of training into the kid before the exchange event. But she also knew Toudou had more experience than Itadori.

Another thing this tells Kumori is that, Mei Mei wasn't completely on her side, even as friends. Then again, Kumori already knew that. Mei Mei was on the side, which wasn't a problem for Kumori, but Kyoto was right there. Kumori then trained her eyes on Utahime. She knew the older girl could never be the traitor, but Kumori didn't think she was entirely on their side either. Kumori only tapped her katana as she continued to watch.

Maki hadn't finished Miwa, finding that the girl was rendered useless without her katana. Kumori felt a little bad for the girl. It wasn't that she was a bad sorceress. Maki didn't have any cursed energy and she's doing fine. But just one look from her and you can tell that she doesn't truly know what she's doing. Weaponless or not, you should still be able to fight.
