One year timeskip. Canocially part of the same arc so we gonna say this is arc 2 as well. They are now in their third years and are 17-18. Also changing the timeline a bit. Getou defects now instead of two years to fit the story. Megumi is 12-13, Maki is 13-14.

Gojo had called all three down to their garden that they visited every morning. Over the years, it's changed, though not dramatically. Instead of just them, occasionally first and second years trickled in, as long as they weren't scared, and Getou and Gojo didn't intimidate them.

"Did you bring the stuff I told you to bring?" He asked as they arrived at their spot. Getou held up an eraser while Shoko held up a pen. Kumori raised her hand and waved a shadow needle to appear.

"Great, now throw them at me," he instructed. Kumori hesitated, but she knew Gojo was smart and knew what he was doing. She trusted him. So the count of three, the friend all threw their flying projectiles at the boy.

Everything stopped, never touching him. He just blinked at them. Then he reached up and caught the eraser and pen. "Worked just like I planned," he said grinning. He didn't touch her needle, but it landed a bit closer than the others.

"How...?" they stared at him in shock. Gojo then went on a rant explaining his new abilities.

"Now, all I need to do is develop my own territory, and perfect my warp," he said at the end. Kumori only smirked and ruffled his hair.

"Heh, hurry and catch up," she mocked from one of their first meetings. He only pouted and looked away. While Gojo was explaining to Shoko, Kumori looked over to Getou.

He's been relatively quiet this entire time and Kumori was worried. The look on his face was an unreadable one, not necessarily frowning, but not smiling either. His face was blank, and he was staring at Gojo.

"You ok?" Kumori silently walked up to stand next to her friend. "I thought you'd be happier." They stood side by side looking at their other two friends.

"I am happy for Satoru," Getou answered. Kumori already knew that, she just wanted to see his reaction. "It's just the summer stress. I'm fine."

"Ok," Kumori nodded in understanding. They stared at Shoko and Gojo for a few minutes before speaking again. "He's the strongest shaman now isn't he?"

"You still hold that title," he said, raising an eyebrow. Kumori only gave a small smile.

"Do I? I sometimes forget," she said not looking at him.  "We all know he's not long from holding that title."

"Do you care? At this rate he will be taking that from you," Getou pointed out.

Kumori only shrugged. "I never asked for the title, and I care not for it. Honestly, I'm glad he's gonna take it."

Getou glanced at the girl, surprised. "Why are you? You've held it for three long years."

"My cursed technique is strong, but it will always lie in the shadows. Someone like me doesn't deserve to be in the spotlight," Kumori raised a hand, and pinched a piece of her hair in between her fingers. "You wanna survive in the Jujutsu world? Don't have a target on your back."

"Doesn't that sound selfish?" Getou furrowed his eyebrows.

Kumori only smirked. "And what name will be the strongest shaman? Gojo or Satoru?"

"The history books will all say Gojo," Getou said.

"But to us it will always be Satoru, which is fine," Kumori answered. "I am to be a Gojo anyways, so have I truly lost my title?"
