Why did none of you tell me I spelled Scarlet wrong this entire time T-T?! Smh I feel so stupid.
"Which came first, Zenin-chan? The soul or the body?" Mahito asked her as he let her go from her chains. Like it would matter, she couldn't exactly use her cursed technique, but she was adept with hand to hand combat anyways. But she didn't trust Mahito to play fairly.
"Buddhism says the soul," was her response. Kumori analyzed his body, waiting to see what he was gonna do.
"But I was asking you," Mahito smiled. He flexed his sewn wrists as he looked at her.
"Biology and neurology says none. That the way we act and speak is based on the DNA structure and what neurons we have in our brain. Someone with a different gene is bound to act different without it," Kumori answered.
Mahito rolled his eyes. "A woman of science? How boring. That doesn't exactly correlate with our world does it?"
"No, I suppose it doesn't," Kumori sighed. "The soul. It explains the concept of Buddhism reincarnation."
"Correct!" He grinned. "A lot of people don't actually get that question correct. The soul determines what the body looks like."
Kumori stared tiredly at the cursed spirit as she raised her fists. She wouldn't be able to exorcise him obviously, without cursed energy. She couldn't even know if she could land a hit that could injure as much as he could to her. She could only square her shoulders as he advanced at her.
"You know what I noticed about you, Zenin?" Mahito asked as she dodged a punch.
"What?" He was quite talkative for someone in the middle of a fight.
"You fight quite selfishly," He said as he pierced the fabric of her dress, but not her skin yet.
She skidded a few feet away from him, her arms displacing her weight. "Excuse me?"
"You're technique kind of makes you selfish," he repeated. "That black out of yours, you can't use it when you're teammates' are around right?"
"Yeah. I'm perfectly fine without using it," Kumori said.
"But everything would be so much easier if it were just you," Mahito pointed out. "Same with Gojo Satoru I suppose. You special grades really can't work together."
He continued to attack her while making conversation. "But it only works if you've got you head in the game. And if you're really good."
"Your point?"
"What's the point of making Gojo end the engagement?" Mahito smirked. This seemed to slow her movements as her curiosity peaked with interest. "We had to make sure he wouldn't be by your side anymore."
This halted Kumori's movements, enough for him to hit her in the arm. Perhaps it was because it actually worked.
"Why tell me this now?" She raised a brow as she flicked the blood away.
"I'm saying give up. He's not gonna come for you. He's left you right?" Mahito grinned.
She felt a sinking feeling in her gut. Kumori narrowed her eyes. "Get on with the fight already," she grumbled.
He flexed his wrists turning them into different weapons. "If you say so."

Megumi was just standing there, trying to look away from the marred body as Gojo started to question the second man. The other body was beaten and bloodied, but still had a semblance of life. But that probably wasn't any better. He heard Gojo mumbling about something like death was too good for trash like him.
