"Shouldn't you or I be the ones taking him to town?" Kumori had a hand on her hip as she conversed with Gojo. The two were walking to pick up Itadori to go on a mission. She tapped her vacant hand on the hilt of her katana as they walked.

"Yeah, but I'm busy and you're training the kids. Besides, he should be exposed to different techniques and sorcerers," Gojo explained.

"He's barely seen my actual technique," Kumori mumbled. But he was right, Itadori should be learning more. "Who are you calling in then, if no one else then seriously Ichiji?" She had no qualms with her kouhai except for the fact that he was easily manipulated and intimidated. He feared his higher ups more than he did cursed spirits.

"Pfft–no. I called in Nanami~Yo! Yuuji-kun!" He called the boy over as they walked.

When the boy arrived he had his hands in his pockets. "What are we doing today?" he'd been kept inside doing mental training exercises for a month now, and was giddy to go and actually fight.

"Meeting a friend," Gojo grinned as Kumori transported them from the basement of the hideout to the school's basement.

The hallway was dim, lighted only by antique candlelight. Itadori's eyes scanned the span of the pathway and the eerie ceilings. "You're not actually sending me to my execution early are you?" his stance was still laid back as ever but his eyes were large, trying to adjust to the dark.

Kumori stopped her walk and let out a loud sigh. "You do always talk too much Satoru," Then she turned to the boy a raised her hand, her palm facing away. "Afraid so, Itadori-kun. It was nice knowing you though. You would've made a fine sorcerer."

Itadori's jaw immediately dropped in shock. He was just kidding. But she was actually serious. The second Kumori's hand ignited in shadows, Itadori brought his hands up, bracing himself for imminent death. He held that stance for awhile, wondering what was taking so long, before he heard laughter.

He opened his eyes again blinking in confusion. "Aren't you gonna kill me?" He scratched his head. Gojo was hunched snickering as Kumori clicked her tongue.

"Is that your response to facing an execution? Freezing up like a pathetic hedgehog?" Kumori lifted her katana and bonked the still confused boy on the head. "Fight back. Make it harder for your killer to kill you, but whatever you do, don't stop fighting. Also, be wary of people. You can't just trust everyone so easily."

"But isn't it the point for me to eat all 20 fingers then kill me?" 😃<-----Itadori. "Kinda wanna die with honor, y'know?"e

"If you're dying with honor, then that means you're dying with a good reason, with your soul at peace, without regrets. Does all of the above apply at this moment?" Kumori's katana was back at her side. "Is your mission complete?"

"If you put it that way...I guess not," Itadori scratched his head again. But Kumori found understanding behind those eyes.

"Well, that's one lesson you've learned today. Now to face a new one," Gojo opened the to see Nanami standing there, in his white work suit. "I'm handing you off to a trustful kouhai of mine, shaman turned salaryman turned back to shaman, Kento Nanami!" Gojo had an arm slung over the younger boy's shoulder, whom looked unamused.

"Stop introducing me to people like that," Nanami fixed his glasses. "Understand this, Itadori-kun. I have faith and trust in Gojo-san, but I don't respect him."

"Huh?!" Gojo scoffed.

"Heh. With good reason," Kumori snorted. "It's been a while, Nanami-san. Glad that you're back though."
