Things have gotten more complicated. The guy we were looking for is dead and we don't know anything about Mason. What would I even do? I feel so hopeless. It seems like things are getting out of hand. And a new problem arrives. Jake.

My old case is opening again and we have to attend the court soon.

I didn't saw Travis since morning and no one knows where is he. I released a shaky breath. The taste of bitter coffee lingered in my mouth. These days, my taste buds started to like bitter things rather than their usual sweet flavors.

I was at a café, waiting for Kurt to show up. We had a lot of things to discuss about.

The bells jingled rhythmically signifying that someone entered the little espresso bar. Measured footsteps neared to my side and the chair in front of me squeaked against the white tiles. I didn't have to look up to confirm my guest, I already knew.

"Shall we start the discussion?" His abysmal voice resonated in my ears. I nodded quietly.

"There are a lot of difficulties ahead of us but we have to stay strong. Hopefully, one day we will be successful." He stated.

I enclosed my eyes tightly. A dull pounding burst at the back of my head.

"What are the circumstances Kurt? Everything seems so messed up." I uttered pessimistically.

His expression was unreadable, stoic as ever. "We need strategy Casie, we need to think twice before making a move. Our antagonist is two step ahead of us. We have stay above them. Now think. Try to remember every small details. I know nothing is making sense right now but we have to keep in mind that our enemy in our own territory. Otherwise it's not possible to read our moves that easily." He murmured is a low voice.

A shiver ran down my spine when his words reached my ears. The thought of our enemy keeping an eyes on us is truly antagonizing.

Stifling a groan, I racked my brain for all the apprehensive events that occurred. What was the strangest event? Well, after Mason's death, every incident was odd.

"First of all it was Mason's death and framing me as the murderer." I continued with a pain on my heart.

"Then it was Mrs Norman. Her strange words. And then her death. After that, the legend and my kidnapping. And lastly, that guy's death last night."

"What about Mrs.Norman? He intoned.

"She said something weird to me before her death."

"What did she say?"

"No body in his grave." I repeated her words.

"Is she referring to Mason?"

I nodded meekly. "She definitely knew something." I said, mostly to myself.

"Can't we investigate his grave?" I asked.

"No Casie. We cant do it without proper clues. She could be deceiving you. It will be a waste of time."

"But don't you think we should take that risk? "

"Before that we need to check his postmortem report." He said.

"Okay. Then let's get to work."

My heart pounded against my chest, my digits tightened into fists. Piercing blue eyes stared into nothingness. The silence was killing me. For the first time. I hated this pessimistic condition. His cold demeanor and calm emotionless appearance was enough to lock all the thoughts that had been bothering me since last night.
