"What happened to him?" Adrienne squinted her verdant eyes. "Wow. Who punched him in the face? I never thought I'd live to see this day." She snickered.
She was talking about a scowling Travis whose lips were bruised and slightly bloodied. Though I was wondering myself how did I even managed to punch him, I won't be bragging about it.
I shrugged my shoulders and sipped my drink. " Ask him yourself. How would I know."
"I think I know who did this. Alleyne told me what happened in the morning." She smirked.
I choked immediately. A sweltering sensation erupted through my throat and nostrils as I coughed hardly. My lungs burned painfully as my eyes watered immediately. My face was red as the juice I was sipping a few minutes back.
"Alleyne t-told..Y-you..what!" I managed to say between my coughs.
"Geez chill. Alleyne told me nothing. I was just testing you for the answers." She patted my back and turned towards where Travis was sitting.
I sighed in relief.
Our school cafeteria was huge and it was lunch time. Today was another typical day after the whole Forest of Riles incidents. Those bullies of mine decreased dramatically and people no longer recognized me as a murderer but some sort of hero. But still, there was those who still blamed me and hated me as usual and saying off that I just got lucky or something.
Well, I was lucky enough to survive that hell hole. So, yeah, hero or villain, I don't care. I'm just happy that everyone is safe.
I sat on my usual place with Adrienne. Melissa was working on some assignments so she skipped lunch and Tyler had basketball practice so he's probably having lunch there.
Travis sat with his old group though he wanted sit with us. But I insisted him as it would be too awkward for everyone. It had been a year since I interacted with his old friends.
There was another concern. Amanda. Though I didn't care what kind relationship he had with that girl, I don't want to be the third wheel. But his recent affections towards me said otherwise. But it wasn't like I'm his lover or something. Maybe it was just attraction or we just got closer than before.
I don't know.
"Have you heard the news?" Ad stuffed her mouth with bread.
"What news?" I asked.
She munched a few seconds and continued. "Where do live girl? Everyone knows it. It's about Amanda."
"What happened to her." I cringed when she drank milk with that food on her mouth.
What's wrong with her.
"She and Travis broke up." She finished with a hiccup.
"WHAT? When?"
"Five months ago. Before the forest incident. Remember the hair incident. Where you dumped hair on that girl who was Amanda's friend?"
"Yes I remember."
"Well, Amanda was angry at him for taking your side and beating that girl's boyfriend. That Teresa girl partially blamed Amanda for this because of her relationship with Travis and broke off their friendship. This made Amanda angry at Travis and both of them had a huge argument over it. End of the day they broke up."
"And why you did not tell me this earlier."
"Well. You had a lot other big things on your head than this news. So, I just waited." She shrugged and popped a sour candy.
I stared at her for some moment but ignored the fact that she's just ruining her stomach with all these strange food habits.
Well, umm. That's something I was totally not expecting. Am I the reason for their break up? Should I feel bad or something? The old me would definitely feel guilty thinking out that I was responsible for their ruined relationship but now I don't even care. There are a lot of things than this friends with benefits relationship. If they had truly loved each other then I would've give this a thought.
"Ad."
"Yes."
"Do you know about any underground fighting court other than the one where Travis fights."
"There are a few. Why?"
"The one I am talking about is very dangerous. It's notorious for gambling, drugs even deaths." I swallowed.
She looked at me suspiciously. "There is one that's deadly as your information. They are called the grim reapers. Deadly fighting's, gamblings, murders, police cases, illegal business they have the record for everything. And those wrestlers, They won't even care if the opponent is dead. I even heard they do slavery. A girl for the winner."
I stared at her in disbelief. "You gotta be kidding me. I can't belief all of this occurs in this city. Where is it by the way?"
"What's cooking on your head?" She narrowed her bottle green orbs. "Please don't tell me you will now visit that place." She groaned.
"I am not going to visit that place." I stated casually.
She sighed in relief.
"We are going to visit that place."
"What!"
"Shhhh. Don't shout. Someone will hear us." I whispered.
"You r going to get us killed someday, you know."
"U r the best." I smiled sweetly.

After school
I waited for Adrienne to pick me up. Tonight we would be visiting that dangerous fighting club. Why? if you ask. Well,
Flashback
"Casie." Kurt said from the other side of the phone.
"Yes, Kurt I'm listening." I whispered.
"I had found an important evidence. Its about Mason."
My breath hitched. "Yes, tell me. What about him."
"The police has tracked his phone records and detected the last place he's been before arriving at the Christmas party."
"Where?"
"It's an underground fighting club. I'll send you the information later." I nodded.
End of flashback
It was very hard to convince Travis to go home without me. After the recent incidents he has become very protective and careful about me and didn't let his eyes off me. I found it very sweet but it had its disadvantages too.
He was very suspicious when I announced that I'll be going for shopping with Adrienne so suddenly and insisted that he'll also come with us. But I shoved that thought off by telling that it was a silly girly shopping thing and I'll stay the night at her house.
So here am I, waiting for Adrienne and Melissa. Yeah, I also added Mel in this mess. Can't help it cause she'd be our main help to enter that place and when trouble comes she'll warn us immediately. We'll also have secret cameras, earphones and tracers in case we lose our ways.
Kurt said he'll be there in disguise, and tell us the rest of the story.
A Familiar Yellow sports car honked in front of me as stared at it suspiciously. Wasn't it Tyler's...
"Hey Case! Hop in!" Adrienne yelled from the front seat.
My eyes widened. She told Tyler. And if she told Tyler than Tyler will directly inform...
I yelped when long digits clasped around my wrist and pulled me backwards. My body came in contact with a hard muscular chest.
"Going somewhere baby?" A familiar husky voice whispered from behind as warm breath fell on my neck.
I gulped in fear.
Shit. I was busted for sure.
