My defense system started falling as soon as I heard him growling. With a lightning fast speed, he made his way towards me. A steely grip caught my arm almost knocking me out of my place. One blink and now he stood mere inches away from me. My eyes were fixated on the place were he stood a few moments ago. My mind still could not digest the scene that happened right now.
No words were spoken. I could not dare to look at him. I was a coward. Those haunted eyes kept me awake for many nights, I didn't want to be awake any more. I wanted to sleep peacefully, without any nightmares.
"What will you do? Beat me till I can't breath? Torture me till I can't stand or punish me till there are no tears left to cry?" A shaky breath escaped from my lips as I closed my eyes tightly.
"No, I won't do any of them. They are too easy going. I'll just keep pushing you to the edge but believe me you won't break. I'll give you everything to live but I won't give you peace. You are too helpless to leave this house but It's the worst place you'll ever want to live in. No matter how much I hate you, I won't let you go. I will trail after you like a lost soul and hunt you down if you ever try to run. I will be the reasons for your nightmare but in the end, you will be the one to owe me everything."
His deepened tone was a little rough for my sensitive ears. But my eyes shot open when I heard those harsh lines.
"You are right. No matter what you do, I won't break.Yeah, I'll live here and I don't need you to give me peace. You don't even know the meaning of if. This is the last place I wan't to live but I'll stay here and fight for those people who are struggling every moment just to live. Where people aren't dying for food and water. I want to live here for those girls, whom I met on the first day as I made a promise of helping them. I want to fight for those orphans as I made a promise to donate the half of my payment to the orphanage. That's why, I won't give up. And yeah, be careful while trailing after me, you may end up being the reason of your own nightmare. And also, I'm not going anywhere, I have so many rooms to clean."
My furious eyes were settled on his dangerous one as they kept searching for some unknown answers. It felt like someone has shoved acid on my mouth as my throat kept burning painfully. Fire rose on the pit of my stomach as rage consumed me.
His gripped tightened as his intense stare burned holes on my body. And then, he chuckled. His velvety voice kept ringing on the back of my head.
I stared shocked at him. All the thoughts vanishing from my mind, my eyes hurt from staring at him too long. He was laughing? He found it funny?
My body was crushed against the wall as he pushed me backwards. His other hand settled on the wall.
"I know . There is no fun in hunting if the prey is dead." He drawled out slowly. His intimidating voice sent chills as the meaning of his words were more darker than it sounded.
A wave of frustration crawled upon me. My brows arched together as I looked upon the boy, hovering over me. He was just playing with me. His twisted words were like a venomous knife, always stabbing me agonizingly.
"Let me go. You are not my God. My owe to you isn't comparable with the things I owe to God." I hissed against his ear. My body tried to get away from his grasp as my nails dug on his arm.
He sighed audibly as he finally lost his patience in the battle of arguing. His lips brushed against my ears as he husky voice reached my ears. My shoulder stiffen immediately.
"Then die in this cold water."
"Wh-what?" I looked at him with confused eyes, my mind failed to understand his announcement . And then, my eyes darted upwards. The shower We were just standing under the shower stall. Realization hit me like a lightning bolt but it was too late to speak as he turned on the water.
Cold water fell on my body as I shrieked in pain. But his vice grip kept me in place. It was too cold or too hot. I couldn't understand which one was it. My skin felt numb against the splashing water. My body burned painfully as the harsh water kept sliding down. I almost forgot about the person, in front of me, who was as wet as me.
His damp hair fell over his forehead as drops of water kept dripping from his blonde hair. His nose was red from the coldness but his body felt incredibly warm in contrary to mine. It felt so tempting to hold him closer.
"What are you doing? Let me go!" I breathed out, too tired from the coldness, my laboured breath mingled with his hot ones.
It felt hard to breath as if someone had stabbed me with a sharp edge knife. Pain crawled over my skin as the world became hazy around me. My knees felt weak and almost failed to carry my weight.
"Is it too cold for you? I thought you were the strong one among us." He spoke out in a mocking tone. His hands circled on my waist pulling me closer towards his body.
My body move against my wish, seeking for warmth. Warm body enveloped my cold one as it shielded me from the cold water.
I gasped in surprise when I found myself being removed from the biting cold water. Still, my teeth clattered continuously as my body trembled violently.
His forehead touched against mine. His damp hair touched my shivery skin. Warm skin, still beaded with cold water stuck on my flesh. I inhaled sharply as the water kept dripping on my hand which was currently resting on his solid chest.
I could feel his beating heart . My grip tightened on his shirt as I bit the inside og my cheeks. Deep blue eyes stared back at me sending volts of electricity on my trembling body.
"Look behind you." He said, his words vibrating on the top of my nose as his lips lightly brushed against it.
Finding no other way, I obeyed and tilted my head to the side. My hazy vision fell over our reflection. A gasp escaped from my lips as I continued to stare at our replication image.
Our clothes stuck against our bodies like a second skin specially mine. Our bodies were clasped against each other as if we were lovers lost in intimacy. My eyes trailed back and forth at our faces. A stupid blush crept on my cheeks as his face was adorned with his signature smirk.
All the coldness was gone as I suddenly felt very hot from inside.
A ghost of sensation crept on the sides of my cheeks as his sharp jaw came in contact with it. He spoke again.
"See, I told you. I'll be the the reason of your nightmare as well as your shelter. " He slowly whispered.
His wet tangled eyelashes and glinting eyes carried pride . All I wanted to do is crush that overwhelming pride.
I didn't know where this sudden strength came from but I pushed was able to push him back. But fortune wasn't with me as my legs slipped in the watery floor causing us to stumble together.
His grip loosen on my waist as his body swayed with me . The coldness wrapped around my body as the closure between us faded away.
The sound of crushing glass was heard in the bathing suit. My eyes enlarged as I recalled about the broken bottle of lavender perfume. Oh no Someone has stepped on it. My hazy eyes trailed downwards as I saw the scarlet liquid adorning the white floor.
I gasped in shock as my cold digits touched my wet lips, drawing out the similar red fluid. A burning coppery taste ran down my dried throat as I continued to stare at him.
He was hurt. But his expression was cool as if nothing happened. A grunt escaped from his lips as he tried to move his injured foot. The injury was deep as blood continued to ooze from the cut.
I should have felt pity but the selfish part of me was happy for his wound. He deserved it.
"See. I told you to be careful while trailing after me. Now look what happened." I smirked while crossing my arm over my chest.
But my smirk and pride both dropped when I saw him smirking back.
"But it's worth it."
