It has  been three hours and the group has been walking through the dark bushes and they still haven’t found out  the base. The dog they thought which would lead them was currently following them instead of leading them the way.

The sun was coming down as nightfall arrived earlier than they imagined. They knew it was their time to stop as everything slowly became dark.

Everyone was tensed as they sat in front of the campfire where they would stay for the night. The little pup slept peacefully beside the warm fire that ignited slowly.

The atmosphere was silent and chilly. The group was silent, each member drunk on their own thoughts.

“I wonder what’s Casie’s doing right now. Is she even okay?” Adrienne mumbled, her knees drawn close to her chest.

“I hope so.” Tyler sighed beside her.

The door behind me rattled and slowly opened up. Again, a figure clad in black entered the the dark room with a thick crop in his hand.

Shit.

He was here for interrogation.

He took the whip and swung it in the air for few times.

I closed my eyes tightly as he directed the lash towards me. A swoosh sound was heard in the semi dark room but the blow never came up.

I opened my eyes immediately and realized that he whipped a few centimeters away from me. Did he missed his chance as it was very hard to see?

Or did he do it intentionally?

He swung it again and I was sure it would hit me this time.

But again, it never hit my body.

I stared at him in disbelief. What was he doing?

Why didn’t he hit me?

“Wha- “ My words stop as he signaled me to stay quite.

I was confused but did not utter as he kept lashing the ground continuously. A few  moments later he stopped.

My eyes found it’s way on the ground where he kept swirling the crop.

What was he doing? Was he drawing something?

It was a circle surrounded by straight lines. Was it a sun?

He tapped his drawing and in the blink of an eye he ran his boots on the ground and erased his depiction.

A sun? Why he would draw a sun?

Is me being captured related to sun? No.  That can’t happen. They captured me because they think I know something.

Then what it could be?

Though there is a thing have noticed.

The room. The room where they are keeping me is a place where the sun can’t reach. The windows are shut. Even a single amount of sunbeam can’t be seem.

But why?

They could’ve kept me in an abundant house. Or at least a place where I could’ve seen a tiny amount of sunlight.

That could only mean one thing.

That they don’t want the sunlight to come here.

But why?

And why even my captor telling me this? Isn’t he supposed to follow the orders of his boss?
