A few days earlier
Staring at the white washed walls, I found myself admiring the different kinds of pictures framed in wood. These weren't just pictures, these were memories.
But my attention caught a particular picture. Her parents in their younger years. Both holding hands. A red stunning ruby ring on her mother's hand glinted gorgeously.
"That ring is so beautiful." I touched the picture.
"Yes it is." Riley smiled sadly. "It almost glints in the darkness." She said. Something gleamed in her eyes.
I stared at her for a moment. Trying to understand what she meant.
"Is it that beautiful?" I asked.
"Yes." She breathed out.

My eyes focused on the dark, enormous domicile as we walked through the dusty road. A dreadful feeling settled on the pit of my stomach. My heart felt heavy with anticipation. My eyes fell on straw haired male beside me. His cobalt eyes were dark, almost dark as black. His expression was schooled as usual. He was a master Poker face.
But those dark eyes soften when they felt my gaze, assuring me that it's gonna be alright. Well, I hope so. The rest of the team was also present including Tyler, Ad and Kurt. Melissa stayed back as usual so that she could keep an eye on everything.
A few moments later I found myself at the corner of an abandoned complex. It was rusty and old with spider webs and dust.
"This way." I heard Kurt speaking.
We followed his trail and stopped in front of a half opened door. The sound of thrashing and groan filled the eerie place.
Kurt pushed the half opened door revealing a middle aged man tied to the chair with a bloody face and a livid Jake beside him, ready to pound on him again.
A distant memory flashed before my eyes. On that time, I was the victim of miserable tortures.
My breathe clogged in my throat. It felt like, I was sitting on the chair taking blows after blows. Blood spilled from my nose, mouth and wounds. Every inch of my body throbbed. I was like a beaten bloody corpse.
A metallic taste spread on my mouth as my throat burned painfully. My heart raced against my rib cage.
A shrill scream broke my trance. My eyes zeroed back to reality.
The captive was now half unconscious as a gash on his already bloodied forehead was present.
Still he refused to say anything.
Jake clenched his fists into ball. They were painted in someone else's blood.
He was the one that was helped to clean every evidence of Mason's involvement with this club. He was also associated with the murder of that man who was last seen with Mason.
"He is not saying anything. I tried all method but it seems that he knows nothing." He said in a hard tone.
I exhaled a deep breathe. Slowly, I walked towards him and crouched down.
"Look." I started.
"If you don't tell us what you know then more people are gonna die. You have to help us."
"I don't know anything." He whispered back.
"Please. We will let you go if you tell us who is your boss. Who is behind this mass murder? You have to tell us."
