I closed my eyes shut when I noticed him approaching towards us with an inhuman speed. I was fearing what if I become the unfortunate object for his powerful fist as Jake seemed to have no plan of letting me go.
One moment I was standing and the next moment I found myself swaying away from Jake. Gravity pulled me towards the ground and I could do nothing to stop the fall. My breath hitched as my body crashed on the ground, the rough gravels peeling my skin in half.
But I didn't pay heed to them. My attention was on somewhere else.
Jake and Travis.
They will kill each other if no one stopped them. My eyes widened in fear and my heart thudded in anxiety.
Punch for punch.
Fist for fist.
Blood for Blood.
Life for life.
That's what happens in lawless combats.
Sounds of crashing, curses and punches heard in the eerie room as both of them attacked each other. Defense seemed to be out of their system as only violence erupted from their moves.
Furniture crashed, glasses cracked and dust flew in the air. This is what happens when you let two hungry beasts free.
They are the monster of the raven night who'll starve on each other's flesh and blood.
This is a deadly game of power. Not everyone is capable of playing this dangerous game.
I knew I had to do something to stop them even it means to get between them and break a few bones. Though I know that my flimsy moves won't even lay a scratch on them, I have to try. Because they won't pay heed to my begging and screams.
I know them that well.
My fingers curled into fists. I took a deep breath and turned towards Kurt.
He was standing at the entrance, his posture tensed and brows drawn together. He was trying to figure this out just like me.
"Kurt." I spoke out.
His charcoal eyes landed on my figure. I released another breath and signaled towards the belligerent figures.
His response was a slight nod.
I stood up with the support of the cement wall beside me. My head calculated all the possibilities. How will stop them? We couldn't even call out the staffs. If they noticed we are here violating all the rules, they'll surely kill us.
And someone is bound to notice it soon.
Travis and Jake were currently at a defensive posture, both were breathing harshly. Their moves moderately similar and their energy were at same level. Jake was pulling it off quite astoundingly bearing in mind that he just came back from a three hour match. And for Travis, he was holding back because he needed energy for guarding his weakness. If Jake somehow hits in the right place than his wound would reopen. I have to stop him before he destroys our three month struggles in the hospital.
This is my time to stop distract them. I just hope that Kurt comes in time.
Any second and they'll pounce on each other again. I released an unsteady breath and placed my hand on his shoulder.
His posture immediately stiffen but he didn't turned back. I stepped forward and turned towards him.
"Casie what are you..." His words died in his throat as I shut him up with my lips. His lips were warm and wet. I could taste blood. His blood.
Travis was frozen for a few moment but he relaxed after a while. His hand came up and rested on my wet cheeks. His lips moved slowly while his thumb softly caressed my cold skin.
"Please let's go." I shakily whispered against his mouth. I turned towards Jake and found him staring at us with steely eyes. He clenched his jaw angrily.
He tried to attack us again But Kurt held him from behind."I'm not an object you can own Jake. We were over when you betrayed me that night. I've moved on from you."
"You don't get it Casie." His voice hard and icy. "If you think that this guy will heal all your wounds then get ready for another heartbreak. We are all the same."
I ignored him and took Travis's hand and left that room. Tyler was waiting for us outside. Our path was clear as he made sure no one followed us.
The cold night air hit my face as soon as I placed my foot outside the hideout. My brown eyes scanned the area. No one seemed to be there. The street was bare and murky. The parking lot was filled with cars and bikes. Nothing else.
It was icy and empty. Travis let me towards his car. We didn't spoke another word after that. I wasn't ready to speak anything. Kurt and Tyler trailed behind us after they managed to stop Jake. Their expression seemed quite tensed. But I think I'll ask them about the situation in the morning.
I was totally worn out both physically and emotionally.

Morning came faster than I thought. The whole night I couldn't sleep. Turning and tossing and occasional crying is what I did for the rest of the night. Just when I thought everything was coming together, Jake appeared out of nowhere. And I know that he won't let go of me that easily.
But what came next totally threw my sanity out.
"Casie." Kurt spoke from the other end of the line.
"The guy who was seen with Mason is already dead. His body was found on his apartment last night." He paused and continued. "That means.."
"That means whoever killed him knew we were coming." I finished with a whisper.
