Enjoy the suspense and watch out for clues
I sighed in defeat. This guy would be the end of me.
He stood up from the sofa, taking long strides towards me; jaw set tight, posture stiff.
And now what? He's gonna corner me into a wall and ask me creepy questions and give me sweet threats? Well that's too predictable.
That's why, this time instead of backing away, I walked forward.
We both stood face to face (I had to look upwards and he leaned down as usual) our gaze settled on each other.
"What the hell are these?" He asked calmly.
"Umm, Newspapers."
He smiled bitterly and shook his head.
"Do you think I'm a fool ? Do think that I don't understand anything?" His features darkened.
"I-I..."
"Why are you bringing back the past Casie? What are you trying to prove? "
"I'm bringing it back because I want to face it. I'm not gonna run away like you. And you are talking about proving? Well, all I want to do is give my friend justice. And if you still think that I'm doing this for some kind of twisted gain then you should know that I'd better die . These ten years are enough to understand that."
His stormy blue eyes settled down on my as his lips set into a thin line. His expressionless face made it difficult to understand his emotions.
" You are forgetting that, if you reopen the case, then the authority will again charge you as a main suspect. And if that happens, you'll again face custody."
"And you are forgetting that I've faced worse situations than the custody. I've been sent to the rehab where everyone things that I'm mentally disable, I've lost my home, my family, been bullied continuously, faced people's wrath including yours but look at me, I'm standing here healthy and determined, acting stronger than ever. I have nothing to loose so facing custody or even going to jail won't hurt me anymore."
My fingers curled into fists as these words escaped from my lips. The tiny hope that rose in me is now growing bigger, bright as the light, hot as the fire.
Maybe I can do this...
No, I will do this..
His lips curved into a little smirk.
"So, where do we begin?"
I pumped my fist in the air with a hint of joy and lots of drama.
"That's the spirit!"

"So, you are saying that his death is related to some kind of legend?" He asked, his eyes fixated on the blogs that I brought from the cafe.
" I'm not sure but I think that these two has some kind of connection. We were driving through the streets beside the forest of Riles. And these blog says that there had been frequent accidents for the past decade. And these investigations they are talking about had stopped somehow. I think there is more than this myth. Why do you think the cases would stop so suddenly? Doesn't it feel a bit fishy?"
"But what made you think that it's not an accident? Now don't tell me that it's just your gut."
"Actually it is my gut. "
He rolled his eyes and crossed his arms.
"So, what did your gut tell you?"
"First of all, I did not drink any alcohol or beverage that day. Second of all, I lost my conscious before getting out of the car. Third of all, our new neighbor says that there is no body in the grave."
