You are the cloud of that blue sky
Star of that dark night
Light of my blind sight
Peak of a high height
I found myself looking at running roads. His words still playing in my mind like a tune.
" I'm not doing this for you. I am doing this for Mason. He deserves justice and I'm not gonna stop until I find out what happened that night..what happened to him. " He closed his eyes and sighed.
"And..about the revenge thing. I'm not gonna ask for your forgiveness or something like that at least not now. Just keep in mind that if the day comes when I stand on my knee and beg for you to forgive me then, either that would be day when Mason comes and stands in front of us or the day when all these pain is over and I am freed from all of my sins. "
"The first one is not happening and I doubt the second one is coming anytime soon." He smiled wistfully.
And I also didn't know what to say. My mind became blank all of a sudden.
Would I also be able to forgive him? Ever? I don't know.
I let my head fall on the seat as I stared outside. The car ran fast, leaving these grey roads behind. The silence was something I was grateful to as it gave us both time and space to collect out scattered thoughts.
The sun started to disappear amongst the horizon as dawn arrived, signaling that the world would see another nightfall.
Big green trees seemed more darker as their shades blended with the upcoming darkness. The greenery started to fade away as the city lights ignited like small fires.
The atmosphere became colder, darker. It felt like the air I was inhaling chilled my insides as it awaken every fiber of my body.
I'll go and befriend my enemies if it comes to you Mase..
Inhaling sharply, I breathed out the word I was holding on.
"It's okay.." I said, my eyes fixed on the sky, trying to find the early stars.
I was only met with silence. I sighed and turned towards him.
His tanzanite eyes were fixed on the road ahead as he kept driving the car. He clenched his jaw when he felt me staring at him, waiting for his answer.
The car came to a halt as he suddenly stopped driving. I looked at him confusedly as the place was still far away from his house.
Cars were horning beside us as drivers kept yelling at us to move.
"Wh-Why did you stop?" I asked worriedly.
He pinched the bridge of his nose and leaned back. Letting go of the steer wheel, he dropped his head on his hands.
"T-Travis. Are you okay?" I placed my hand on his arm but withdrew instantly when he flinched at the contact.
The drivers kept yelling behind us. I stared at him worriedly.
"Tra-"
"Please." He whispered and gripped his hair tightly.
"I need to be alone."
I stiffen immediately and understood what he meant. Talking a shaky breath, I unbuckled my seat belt and got out of the car without looking back.
My hands clenched tightly as I felt a stinging feeling from inside. I kept walking on the unfamiliar street, trying to ignore the world around me.
