"Hey, hey....girl, wake up!"
My eyes flew open when a hand shook my whole body continuously. Miss Shelly was standing in front of me with an annoying look plastered on her face. A painful sigh escaped from my lips when I tried to move my shoulder. The memory of the first class came in like a crashing car but exploded into a bundle of smoke and fire once my mind darted back to reality.
"Are you listening? This isn't the place to sleep."
"Y-yes, I'm sorry, it won't happen ever again."
A creaking sound echoed in the empty library when I pushed myself up from the chair. My body felt weak as there was no ounce of energy left in my system.
My stomach started to twist as it gave me a feel of nausea and my lungs couldn't take any air since a tightness engulfed my chest.
Everything became blurry and unrecognizable as the gravity pulled me towards the ground like a powerful magnet but my falling stopped when someone saved me from crashing.
"Can you walk? We have to take you to the nurse room!"
Nodding at that person slowly, I steadied my shaky legs. Both of them helped me to stand up and took me to the nursing room. As the nurse rushed in to see what happened, she gasped when she saw me in this state.
"S-She's having an allergic reaction! Please stay away from the patient!"
She immediately left the room and called our medical guide. In the meanwhile the librarian helped me to lie down. Mrs. Noah came afterwards to know what was wrong with me and cleared the whole room.
"Breath slowly. .... Inhale and exhale just do as I say."
I tried to follow her actions but my efforts went in vein when she injected me some kind of antidote.
When the sharp point of needle priced through my skin, a stinging sensation consumed my flesh. Closing my eyes in pain, I tried to stay calm.
"Don't stop breathing, your heart beat needs to slow down." She worriedly glanced at me.
"Are feeling better?" After few minutes of waiting, she asked.
Shaking my head at her, I gave her my answer.
"No..."
Her face morphed into sadness as she took more injections.
"Then, we have to give you more shots."
Subsequently taking more installations, I felt a bit better as my breathing got normal and the feeling of vomiting faded away.
"You should be okay by now and take this epinephrine with you. Please inject it whenever your health status decreases. You can go home right now."She smiled.
Her welcoming smile sent a wave of guilt in my like a thousand volts of electricity. The scenery of our previous encounter flashed in my eyes as the felling of shamefulness rushed in.
"Miss Noah wait!"
She stopped at her track and slowly turned her head.
"I am very sorry for bashing out at you on that day. I didn't know what was I saying. I am really ashamed for my behavior." My eyes watered since I was very sorry.
"It's alright and I'm happy that you realized your mistakes and I'm also sorry for not standing up for you. We all have act blind though we can see and understand everything that's happening around us."
"I know." I whispered.
Staring at my hands, my mind wondered what to do next. Life is getting more frustrating as everyday is becoming more challenging.
