WILL POV:

All day I kept my eye out for a good time to approach Nico. We had a lot of classes together, but i didn't want him to freak out in the middle of class. Finally lunch came and I saw him walk into the bathroom, seemingly alone. I opened the door slowly and saw Nico standing in front of the mirror washing his hands. His eyes shot up at the sound of the door and his face quickly turned into an angry scowl.
"I told you to just leave me alone," he growled.
"I'm not going to do that," I say truthfully, "Look Nico, I don't want to hurt you or upset you. I just want to try and help you, please just let me."
He rolled his eyes, "I don't need help Solace."
I felt my heart drop as he said that.
"It's ok to need a helping hand sometimes, that doesn't make you weak-"
"I am not weak, which is why I don't need your help," he said in a hard voice.
I stepped closer cautiously and to my surprise he didn't back away. "Please just let me try, at least let me talk to you," I pleaded. All I've wanted to do for years was to help him, even when I didn't know exactly who he was. If he thought I was going to let him just push me away he was very wrong.
"And why would I do that?" He sneered. "I don't need a prince charming."
"Please at least accept me as a friend, friends always help," I say, "Let me show you I really do care, i'm not trying to feel like a hero." I take another step closer to him, and he still hasn't moved away so I took that as a good sign. I was hoping to at least allow me to enter his life as something other than that annoying kid that followed him everywhere.
"Why do you want to me friends with me?" his face dropped into a slightly pained expression, but still hard as ice.
"I want to get to know you," I answer taking another step forward.
"Good luck with that," he said, laughing and rolling his eyes to the floor.
"So will you stop running from me every time I get close to you? Please?"
"Fine, but if you bring up the whole you thinking I'm your soulmate shit I will deck you," he said, in a slightly more casual tone.
I can't help but smirk at him, "I'd like to see you try that."
"You think I can't?" this time it was his turn to take a menacing step towards me.
"I was just being sarcastic," I say quickly before he tried to prove his point.
He rolled his eyes again, "That's what I thought sunshine."
I smiled at him, "Sunshine?"
"Yep, get used to it. And by the way it's not a compliment," and with that, he shouldered past me and out of the bathroom, leaving me smiling like an idiot.
