Arya, Jameson, and Andrew were thrown into the prison cell, the robots showing no signs of emotion. The robots then closed the cells, using their fingers as keys to lock them tight. It seemed like there was no escape. However, the three had met a familiar face within the cells.
"Baxter Ables!" exclaimed Arya, surprised to find out that he was here, "What are you doing here?"
"I went ahead and tried to confront O'Malley first with the evidence earlier than you all," Baxter meekly said, "I was surrounded and left in this prison however. I assume that O'Malley has taken you guys down as well?"
"Not necessarily," explained Andrew, getting up from the ground, "O'Malley died in front of us. He was killed by Nishojo, one of the Generation 0 robots. Jameson here has the other one, Ichishojo, the idol robot you usually see on television, but soon she and Jules would get disassembled."
"Didn't you guys have one more person with youse?" asked Baxter.
Andrew clenched his fist before saying, "I swear that they'll receive justice."
"Baxter," said Jameson, "You've been here for a couple of hours or so. Have you gotten any idea on how to get out?"
"As far as I can tell, not really," mumbled Baxter, scratching the back of his nape.
These prison cells were located directly under the government building that O'Malley's office resided in. Unlike other prisons, the building is under close watch by robots and security. However, they have all been interrupted by Nishojo's Total Control. Nishojo has them locked down and under close supervision.
"There's a grace period though," said Baxter, "Funny thing about technology is that they always need some form of energy. The security cameras shutdown for one minute every hour to recharge. Those 60 seconds are our grace period to escape."
"But we can't really do that with all these robots monitoring us as well, right?" asked Arya, "Not to mention we're pretty powerless without our own robots.."
"Don't worry about it," said Andrew, "I've got my ways out of this place. Just tell me when the grace period starts. It's quite unfortunate that the robots that monitor us carry the very same key to let us out with their fingers."
"Once we get out, what are we going to do?" pondered Arya.
"I know this place," answered Jameson, "If we're quick enough, we can head to the disassembly room, where they should be keeping Jules and Ichishojo. The room should have some weapons that we could all nab to defend ourselves too."
"Maybe I can get my flamethrower gloves back," smiled Baxter.
"You're a menace to society..." mumbled Arya.
"Hold it!" said Andrew, "What about Laurence, Marie, and Dante?"
"Chances are that Nishojo took them as well for extra protection," said Jameson, "As if Beep Boop wasn't extra protection enough. I'm sure you're all aware of the troubles that's he's caused?"
"More than aware," gulped Andrew, "I'd rather not go through that hell again."
"So now what?" asked Arya, "We just wait for the grace period to happen?"
"Yeah, it's not too far from now," replied Baxter, "Should be less than half an hour. You'll know it's the grace period when the security camera lowers its 'head.'"
"Gotcha," said Jameson as he sat down on the floor, "For now we stay put... and try to suppress the rage we have against O'Malley and Nishojo."
"It's funny," said Arya, "We were all against O'Malley, but in the end, he really only wanted the advancement of human prosperity. Now with him gone... we really do risk the chance of getting taken over."
"It's just as I said," Jameson said as he shook his head, "Soon enough, they'll be heading to the radio broadcast system. That'll be the place where Nishojo could control of all robots within a radius. Her Total Control is greatly superior to that of Ichishojo. However, her mindset is truly wrong. There is a way that robots and humans could cooperate with each other and live equally.
You're one to speak up for that, right Andrew?"
Andrew thought back to his memories with his past robots. His first robot when he first became a police officer has gotten along with Andrew. However, a killer had taken the robot's life. Andrew took another robot, from Generation 1. However, that robot died by getting exploded inside a factory.
He was too heartbroken to get another robot, especially since he felt as if his irresponsibility would cause them to die again. However, soon Andrew reluctantly accepted the Generation 4 robot offered to him: Laurence.
Andrew sympathized with Laurence, and even thought back to the times they had shared with each other, how they saved each other's butts, and how Laurence would remain loyal to the very end.
Andrew knew that Nishojo had to pay for the death of Maurice, and the control of Laurence. Andrew wouldn't let another robot be taken away from him.
Robots too, are living beings.
