"Zonialation Diamonds?" asked the young man with black spiky hair, wearing glasses and a suit, "I've heard about those before.."
"Yes.." said the woman before him, wearing idol-like clothes with long brown hair and a hair bow, "It seems that they were discovered by a drug dealer who was under arrest by Andrew Hawkin."
"We should go meet him."
"But—"
"Jameson Arev," said the person by the door, "Senator O'Malley would like to speak with you."
"Please let him in," replied Jameson.
The woman closed her eyes, hoping that this little "meeting" would work out well.
...
"Kaiba O'Malley," said Jameson nervously, "Is there any reason why you're here today?"
"Should there be a reason for me to visit you, Jamie my boy?" asked the old man with a gray combover in a suit, "I'm simply checking vip on you. I know we're both on different sides of this controversial debate, but your ancestors still view mine as potential business partners, no? I'm here to help you out here."
"If you're trying to persuade me to let the robots continue with being used, then my answer is no. I've already told you multiple times and given you evidence on how the robots could potentially be harmful for our society."
"You shouldn't say such rude things, especially since your very own robot is in the room as well."
O'Malley looked at the young woman who was right beside Jameson. When their eyes met, she instantly looked away in disgust.
"It's really odd how you can say such things and she's still loyal to you."
"Ichishojo is different," said Jameson, slamming his hand on the table, "She's a Generation 0: The first robot to be made. Unlike the others, she has her own free will herself. She doesn't have to be by my side."
"Arev is right," said Ichishojo, "I don't have to be by his side, but I do support his cause. I don't trust these new robots that are made from factories. They lack emotion and well thought-out, handmade crafting. The chances of them turning once they aren't raised right would be devastating!"
"You say that like robots are babies," O'Malley interjected as he shook his head, "Robots have no emotion at all. They're programmed to do their jobs accordingly. Ichishojo, why don't you dance and sing for me right here like the little idol robot you are? Be a good girl and do as your told—"
Slam! Crack!
Jameson held O'Malley up with his collar, O'Malley's feet barely touching the ground. He was pushed against the glass pane over the tower, which had cracked a little because of the shove that Jameson made.
"Ohoho!" laughed O'Malley, his hand holding the arm of Jameson, "Usually you're such a nervous wreck, Jamie my boy. However, when it comes to your robot, you get all aggressive!"
"Robots aren't objects," glared Jameson as he gritted his teeth.
"Arev, stop!" said Ichishojo, trying to calm him down, "You're already on your second strike against O'Malley!"
"You say that robots aren't objects," scoffed O'Malley, "But all I see are walking pieces of scrap who just get the job done. Our own personal slaves."
Jameson threw O'Malley to the ground. However, O'Malley merely smirked as he slowly stood up, brushing his suit.
"A third strike against your rival candidate would ruin you," smiled O'Malley, "However, I won't mention this to anybody. After all, you're a potential business partner by inheritance. Rethink your decisions and see if robots can truly make an impact on society. With what we have now, industries are booming, and it's all because of what your ancestors introduced to this world.
Think about it, and the fame that you could receive. Your tarnished family legacy could uphold a new reputation.
I'll be going now. Nishojo should be waiting for me at my penthouse. She's a much better robot than some idol."
As soon as O'Malley left, Jameson turned to Ichishojo.
"Don't let his words get to you," they both said in unison.
"Ah.." mumbled Jameson, "You go first."
"No.. it's alright. What you said was basically what I was going to say anyways. He's just trying to get into your head. He wants to win this desperately, and he wants all the support he needs."
"His way of thinking upsets me. He's only doing this for his own selfish needs. If only people could realize the true consequences..
Ichishojo, after your next show, do you think you'll be able to visit Andrew Hawkin with me?"
"You have a meeting right after my show. So, we should have to reschedule that first.."
"That meeting is pretty important though.."
"We're very busy people, huh?"
"You're right.. We'll have to postpone the meeting with Andrew Hawkin until some later date. Although the potential of the Zonialation Diamonds are important, we need to focus on our own priorities as well."
Ichishojo reorganized the papers on the table as Jameson looked out of the glass paned window. He thought about the future of what was to come for Engine City if O'Malley gained confirmation about his plans.
"Arev, my show is about to start," smiled Ichishojo, "I'll be going now."
"Yeah... good luck and stay safe, alright?" replied Jameson, flashing a thumbs up.
"You too. Please don't get into any trouble or anything like that."
"Don't worry. I doubt anything would happen to me if I'm stuck in this room researching statistics."
"Don't overwork yourself then!"
"Will do."
