Ichishojo stared at her sister, which stood on top of a pedestal, clear for the entire boardroom to see. Unlike Ichishojo, which was designed to be idol-like, Nishojo wore more military combat related attire. Nishojo didn't wield weapons, but had secret artillery underneath her glossy exterior. She was blonde compared to Ichishojo's silk brown hair.
Jameson didn't know what to make of this reveal. It seemed like his efforts were for naught when explaining his lecture.
"Nishojo was developed alongside Ichishojo as the second of the two Generation 0 robots made by Marvin Arev," explained O'Malley, "Unlike Ichishojo over there, who was designed for more 'society' fitted experiments, Nishojo was designed for the military. Something to help in the wars of ours. You see, Nishojo has the usual artillery that most Generation 1 and earlier robots have, such as.."
Nishojo opened up some of her weapons, displaying an assault rifle from her arms, a missile from her back, and some handguns that opened from her legs. Her shoes and fingers could also display knives if she wanted to. Truly a killing machine.
"This is what Jameson Arev's ancestors intended with these robots," smiled O'Malley, "To create a machine for everything, even warfare. Now what really sets Nishojo apart is not her extensive variety of weapons, but a trait that she and Ichishojo both share: The manipulation of robots around her."
"The manipulation of robots?" asked a board member, "Do tell, O'Malley. What do you mean by that?"
"Marvin Arev, the creator of robots had designed Ichishojo and Nishojo from the other robots made before them differently," explained O'Malley as he walked over the board, pointing at his prepared slide at a half covered blueprint, "Both Ichishojo and Nishojo hold a certain cell mechanic which allows them to control any electronic device within their range. Ichishojo had more features than the military suited Nishojo, so her electronic device manipulation range is short. However for Nishojo, which had much more opportunities than Ichishojo, got a drastic increase in the range of her device manipulation.
In turn, when it comes to the manipulation of robots and other electrical devices, Nishojo has a far greater device manipulation range than Ichishojo. This manipulation is so powerful that it can even override Ichishojo's device manipulation. With this kind of power, we can greatly take care of those who oppose us internationally, no? This robot is a war ender, a peace bringer! Nothing but the best for the future of this society we live in!
How could you refuse such a scientific advancement?"
The board members turned to Jameson, who had just stood there watching O'Malley's presentation. He couldn't help but sweat out of nervousness. He didn't plan for a counter argument this big from O'Malley. This was uncalled for. He didn't even know that O'Malley had possession of Nishojo.
"Didn't you know, Jamie my boy?" smiled O'Malley, "Your father and I used to be good friends before he passed. He gave you Ichishojo, and I Nishojo as tokens of remembrance for him and his ancestors. You don't want to disappoint him and Marvin now, right? After all, they worked hard to make this society prosper with the invention of robots. Why bring it down?"
"Th-the risks and factors are just too g-great," mumbled Jameson, "We can't let robots go rampant.. we'll have to run background checks for bugs on every single one that might take a whi—"
"Nonsense, Jamie my boy. I feel like the board members have already reached their decision anyways."
"Yes, I'm afraid we'd have to side with O'Malley for this meeting once again, Mr. Arev," announced a board member, "He's shown yet again why we'll be needing robots in this society. Your attempts were weak. I'd suggest that you make stronger arguments for our next meeting, but I'd doubt it'd surprise us anyways."
"Did I do well in acting prim and proper, Mr. O'Malley?" asked Nishojo quietly, opening one eyelid of hers.
"You did well, Nishojo," smiled O'Malley, putting his papers together.
Jameson and Ichishojo were the first to leave the boardroom, not getting close to Nishojo. His papers were messed up and jumbled, and he was pretty sure he saw one of his flyers in the trash bin. He sat by the lobby chairs, putting his hands up to his face and thinking about his disappointments.
"Don't be so down, Arev.." mumbled Ichishojo, sitting beside him and comforting him, "You'll find something by the next meeting."
"They.. don't understand it at all," whispered Jameson, "Why can't we just show them your logs? Your logs of robots attacking humans for some reason?"
"You already know that if we show them my logs, they'll write it off as some kind of cheating," said Ichishojo, "Despite it being hard evidence, we can't really show it to them unless we find some sort of exterior evidence. There are definitely robots out there that are bugged, and have the intention to kill. We just have to find other means of evidence to show them."
"To get this far only to be hindered by evidence we already have is frustrating. Not only that, but O'Malley was wrong about my father. Although my father did give O'Malley Nishojo.. what he said at his deathbed, a deathbed that I was the only one present.. it contradicts everything that O'Malley says about his relationship with the Arevs."
"Don't trust O'Malley. Don't trust the robots. Ichishojo is your only hope. Take care of her, my son."
