The feeling of comfort
It's a feeling or thought
It's something that we know
For our whole life
It's always been there
We just don't see it or feel it
At the time but the unknown is what scares us
And making us not want to step out of our comfort zone
And it brings us discord because it isn't known
It's unfamiliar but the comfort makes us feel alive,
Bring us peace, joy, and we familiarized ourselves with comfort
Because it's something that feels safe and
when something that doesn't feel safe
We run back to what does
Our safety blanket
But comfort feels like home
Feeling at home is something that we crave
We want
We need
We desire
But it isn't known the feeling of home
Comfort can be a person, a though a feeling or a saying,
or even a show
We hold on to comfort
For as long as we can because it feels good
And letting go feels unknown and scary
But we are afraid of letting go
Because letting go means let go of everything
That makes us feel at home
But we are forgetting that
We are letting go of all of our possibilities, all the chance
and opportunities that can change our life
Forever but we don't want it
If it isn't comfort or a feeling of home
Comfort is all we know
All we deserve
All we desire
But with comfort, there comes a great deal of pain
Because of all the things that could've been or should've been
Worrying ourselves for the comfort we long for
We crave it badly, we are searching for
It everywhere, we find it
In everyone and everything
And we don't stop until it's found
Forgetting that comfort is something
To be used for when you need it
We blame ourselves for the feeling of comfort
Because once we fiend it, we make ourselves
Get attached because we are forgetting what
It's like to be alone because being alone
Meaning feeling alone, feeling the agony, the heartbreak
And struggle
but it leaves us in that agony, heartbreak, and struggle
Questioning ourselves
Did we deserve it
Did we deserve the pain
Why did they break me that way
When in reality they were your home
But you weren't theirs
There is a difference between holding onto someone or using them
We latch ourselves to people who don't love us the way we do
But the pain of letting go of that comfort
Are the most heartbreak and heart-wrenching thing to do
Because you're letting a piece of yourself go
The feeling of being scared that you will never find it again
That nothing will ever comfort you or ever feel like home
Or make you as happy as before
But with comfort, there comes a story, a lesson, or something that need to be taught
Comfort is a necessity for when you need it
Not for when you want it
Because when you want it you won't get it
Because to you when things get hard
To comfort you
To be there for you
To show you a way where there is no way
But don't take it for granted
And don't take comfort easily from others
Because where comfort is
There is a great amount of pain
