KATARA'S POV:
"Wha-what do you need to talk to me about?" I ask Zuko with a stutter. He just holds up his index finger, a signal telling me to wait a second. I shut up and continue following him as his hand was still gripping around my wrist, dragging me along down a hallway that I didn't recongize.
Honestly, his hand grip was a little tight, and it was a little uncomfortable, but I managed. Plus, i kind of liked it.
Toph was right, I do like Zuko. A lot.
But Zuko's into Mai. No, I woouldn't say that they're perfect for each other. Mai is a gloomy, emotionless girl who sighs a lot. And she almost killed me in Omashu with her damn knifes.
Yeah sure, maybe now she's changed and she did save Zuko, my brother, my father, Suki, and some other dude from falling into boiling water at the Boiling Rock, but still. Her past won't change.
Zuko's won't either, I remind myself. Zuko was much worse to us than Mai ever was, he used to have a ponytail and track us down across the world. He even used my mother's necklace as bait for Aang. That, was indeed heartless.
But he's definately changed. He's the first firelord in a long time who doesn't want to burn the earth to the ground. Zuko taught Aang firebending, which also helped a lot with defeating Ozai. Most importantly... he helped me find the man who killed my mother.
***Flashback***
"Are you ready to get revenge?" Zuko asked me as we stood outside of a metal door on a Southern Raiders fire nation ship. My arms were covered with bended water and my mouth was covered by the neck of my black shirt. I nodded.
"Ready."
Zuko jumped up and kicked down the door, and we both rushed inside. We were immediately greeted by blasts of fire, but Zuko held them off so they didn't hit either of us. The captain coninuted shooting and Zuko continued blocking, but then I looked out the window. It was the full moon.
I knew what I needed to do.
I dropped the water that was bended around my arms down to the metal floor, and lifted my arms into the air, and moved my finger into the right position. Then I dropped a hand.
The captain fell to the floor and his arms were stuck to his sides, and he wasn't able to move. "What are you doing to me?" he yelped, and I showed no mercy in my eyes.
I held him there, and glanced back at Zuko for split second. He realized what I was doing, and I could tell, just for a moment, that he was terrified. Of me.
His eyes widened for a moment but then glared again at the captain. Zuko was afraid of me. He knew I was bloodbending.
"Tell me you don't recognize her!" Zuko demanded, pointing at me. I let the captain of the Southern Raiders loose a little, so he could lift his head to face us.
"I- I don't know what you're talking about," the captain spat.
"Look her in the eyes, and tell me you don't know her, what you did to her," Zuko yelled, and the captain stared me down, and I glared at him.
This went on for a few seconds, and my face fell.
"That's not him. He's not the one who killed my mother," I whispered, and put my hands down, setting the captain free. I began to cry, and ran out of the room I heard Zuko yelling at the captain, yelling at him for information.
When I reached the main floor of the ship, I found Appa waiting on the deck. I heard cries of soldiers in the water that we knocked down earlier. A pang of guilt hit me, but I shook it off. Zuko came out, and we went to find the true monster who tore me apart from the woman that was the closest to my heart.
