KATARA'S POV:
Why the hell was Mai here?
"Hey," she said in her lame monotone voice, waltzing into the cave. Toph earthbended it shut behind her, and Mai shot me a glare. Azula came running up to her.
"Mai! So glad to see you again!" Azula smiled, attempting to hug her, but Mai just pushed her away. Zuko sent Mai a glare and went back to ignoring her.
Ty Lee came cartwheeling up to her old friend, whom she hasn't seen in only a week. "Mai! I missed you so much!" she grinned, wrapped her arms tight around her neck. Mai rolled her eyes.
"I'm still not much of a hugger, Ty Lee. And it's only been a week. Relax," Mai scowled, and walked past Ty Lee. Where was she headed to? "Toph, can I talk to you in private?" Mai called, and Toph shrugged, and ran over to where Mai was standing. They walked even further back into the cave, even Appa was roaring, wondering what was going on.
"What do you think they're talking about?" I asked suspiciously. Sokka sighed.
"Probably just girl stuff, like make-up or hair," he said, sharpening his boomerang. Aang shrugged.
"Yeah, Sokka's right. They're just girls. Just give them a chance," Aang smiled, and airbended up a ball and rode around the walls of the cave. Azula huffed.
"I doubt they're talking about that," she blurted, her arms crossed. Everyone turned towards her.
"What do you mean?" Ty Lee asked, doing a small flip in the hair, landing on her feet next to Azula. I would call Ty Lee a show-off, but I've realized that doing gymnastics and stuff is her talent. I waterbend for fun, why not allow her to do her circus stuff?
"I don't know. I just know Mai, and she doesn't talk about make-up or hair, because she doesn't really care. Why would she express her feelings? It's probably about something important, and I'm sure it isn't a good thing," Azula explained, combing through her hair with a comb I lent her.
"You're right," I add in. "Toph wouldn't talk about that stuff either. She's mentioned it to me before- she doesn't care how she looks or what people think of her. Toph knows who she is, and I'm 100% positive they're not talking about girly stuff. It's like Azula said- it's not a good thing."
"Well, I don't think we should worry about it. Toph knows what she's doing," Sokka shrugged, and Aang finally stopped fooling around and landed next to Sokka.
"Yeah, if something's wrong, Toph can sense it. Just trust me," Aang grinned, and started playing around with Momo. Go figure.
Zuko's been silent this whole time, leaning against Appa, picking at his fingers. I was wondering why he was silent, but I just ignored it. Suddenly, a timer went off. Sokka hopped up, and I noticed there wasn't anymore pounding on the roof of the cave.
"The storm's over! Aang, bend that dumb rock away!" Sokka exclaimed in joy, hopping around on his good leg until I handed him his crutch. Aang earthbended the wall of the cave out of the way, and Sokka went limping out.
