twenty-six || he's back

KATARA'S POV:

"How does Toph running away involve me?" Sokka asked me as we were climbing onto Appa. I felt guilty for having to wake the bison up, but it was necessary to find our friend.

I turned towards Sokka with a glare. "I don't know what she has told you or what you have told her. You're going to have to figure stuff out on your own. You seem to be messing with her mind or something, because one minute she'll be the crazy, awesome, daring earthbender, and the next, she's depressed and silent. She's one of my best friends, Sokka, and you're my brother. Just figure it out," I said. He just looked at me, and then looked at his feet. I hopped onto Appa and climbed onto his neck and grabbed hold to the reins.

"Let's go find her," Sokka said from behind me. I pulled on the reins and said "yip yip" to cause Appa to begin flying. Zuko, Azula, and Ty Lee surrounded Suki, who was sound asleep. Zuko looked up at me with worry, and I gave him a small smile to reassure him.

"What is up with your feelings with Suki? I thought you were over her," I suddenly blurted. My brother jerked up by me. He looked down over the forest with a glum look on his face.

"I really did think I was over her, Katara. I really did. She moved on, and so did I. I knew that she no longer loved me, so why should I bother trying? I got focused on the storm, the Mai bullshit, and finding Zuko and Azula's mother. But when I found her in that cave, everything came back to me. All of our happy and perfect memories together. I just missed her so much." Sokka sighed. "I hope Toph is okay."

I huffed, and we both sat in silence for a moment. I was tempted to ask what was going on between him and Toph, but I decided against it. It's their problem, not mine. "I hope she's okay too," I whispered.

"Down there!" Sokka suddenly cried out. I looked back at him, and he was pointing to a large cloud of dust. There was rumbling sounding as Appa plummeted towards the dust. It was definitely an earthbender -- a good earthbender-- but we still couldn't tell if it was Toph or not.

Sokka was leaning far over the edge of Appa to see if it was Toph, his eyes were squinted to the point where they look like they're closed. "Sokka, be careful!" I warned. He ignored me and kept leaning. "You're gonna fall!" I shouted as he lost his balance and tumbled off of Appa. He hollered as he fell through the air, and I ordered Appa to immediately try to catch him before he hit the ground.

Appa swooped underneath Sokka, catching him safely in the carrier. "It was Toph!" my brother cried happily instead of thanking Appa. He was waving his hands in the air. "Katara, that's Toph! We need to get her, she's being chased by something!" he yelled. I turned Appa's reins to get closer and closer, and sure enough, it was her. She looked panicked, and was launching boulders at the thing that was chasing her as she ran.

"TOPH!" Sokka called, trying to be loud enough over all of the noise. Appa flew down next to Toph, dodging the rocks being hurled at him. "We're on your right, jump!" I shouted to Toph, and she immediately did as she was told.

Toph launched herself into the air and landed on Appa, right next to Sokka. "Fly him out of here as quick as you can," Toph said. "I'll explain later."

"Yip yip, Appa!" I said, patting him and pulled down the reins. He roared and flew up towards the sky. I looked back, and squinted down at who was chasing Toph. Whoever they were, stopped moving, and were just staring up at us. I squinted even further, and recognized the face. Or, faces I should say. I gasped and jumped back.

It was Ozai and the Dai Li, and they were after us.

HEY GUYS I'M SO SORRY THAT I'VE BEEN GONE FOR LIKE TWO MONTHS BUT I MISSED Y'ALL SO MUCH.

I was in Florida for a week back in August, and then I went to a 1D concert, and I had Bible school to help teach, and then I started high school lol. BUT YEAH NOW I GOT MY OWN LAPTOP YAYAYAY. and i'll update more obviously and i promise they won't be this short. okay bye ily all
