After spending the night at Jimin's house and having to drive home with a gaping hole in the crotch of my jeans, I'm not as hungover as I thought I'd be which is very welcoming as I walk into the casino to start my nightshift.
Waving at a few dealers and pit bosses as I walk past the tables, I laugh as soon as I enter the office seeing Daniel sat at his desk in his usual position with his head in his hands.
"Miss me?" I laugh, dropping my bag on my desk before grabbing my walkie-talkie.
"That ex of yours showed up last night Y/N." He sighs, leaning back in his chair as my eyes widen. "He caused a scene at the craps table, yelling profanities about 'how tight' our casino host is and that he can do whatever he likes here, that you'll always back him up and he's just waiting for you to come crawling back."
"What did you do?" I gulp. He knows that I didn't meet Josh through the casino as such, and of course he wasn't allowed to play in here whilst we were an item. But now that we are not together he is technically allowed to come and play whenever he pleases. And apparently he's taking full advantage of that. I'm just glad I wasn't here to witness it.
"I had him kicked out and banned of course. He was disgustingly intoxicated and some of the things he was saying about you were vulgar enough to make a pimp blush. But at least he will be out of your hair now." He smiles at the end, making my shoulders relax when I see he's not holding it against me.
Standing from his chair and grabbing his own walkie-talkie he walks with me as I make my way towards the door, ready to go and see what the night has in store for me. Patting me on the shoulder and giving it a tight squeeze he gives me a small smile before we step outside.
"This is why you don't mix business with pleasure Y/N." He says, looking straight ahead out at the revellers on the casino floor. "One, it's messy. And two, it's not worth ruining your career over."
"Thanks for the reminder" I mumble to myself, watching him walk away.
"Y/N! Thank God!!" I hear a voice yell from behind me, making me turn to see Alex running in my direction. "You missed quite the performance from your ex last night."
"So I've heard." I huff, walking towards the tables. "How bad was it?"
"Bad enough for him to take a swing at me when I asked him to stop." He shrugs, making me halt to stare up at him.
"Seriously?"
"Yup." He nods before we both continue walking. "But he's banned for life now so it's okay."
That's what I've always loved about my assistant Alex, he always looks on the bright side. He had a man try to attack him, and yet he still sees the silver lining.
"So, what's on the agenda tonight boss?" He asks, making me take a glance at my watch as we stop outside the poker room.
"The blackjack tournament starts in 30 minutes. Can you go set up the table and make the announcements? I'll meet you at the table before it starts."
Nodding before turning back towards the tables, I laugh as I see a sea of slot cougars craning their necks to sneak a look at his ass as he walks by blissfully unaware. It's like a Mexican wave of perverted woman.
Pushing the door open to the poker room, I walk inside to see Jimin sat alone at the table playing with his phone.
"Hey handsome." I whisper, taking a quick look around as he smiles up at me.
"Hi beautiful." He whispers back with a smirk, mocking my attempt at being discreet. "Where are the guys?" He whispers again, laughing at me as I roll my eyes and take a seat beside him.
"No idea, they'll probably be here soon." I shrug before slapping his hand away that is slowly creeping up my thigh. "Jimin! There are cameras!"
"So." He shrugs. "Don't tell me you wouldn't enjoy being bent over this table right now. Just imagine me slamming into you whilst poker chips fly everywhere. That would be fucking hot."
"And also never going to happen." I laugh. "Sorry Jimin but that's a fantasy you will just have to live with never fulfilling."
"We'll see about that." He smirks, making me frown at him."Hey, so I told my parents to set an extra place setting for Christmas." He smiles.
"Are you sure it's okay for me to come with you? I mean, it's a big family holiday, I don't want to give your family a hard time thinking that they have to entertain me."
"No, they're fine with it. Especially when I said it was a woman that I'm bringing home." He grins whilst stuffing his phone back in his pocket. "I told them it's not a date kinda thing though so you can relax. I just told them I was bringing a friend."
Ouch!
"Okay." I nod, feeling that friendzone pang again. "When are we leaving?"
"Christmas morning." He tells me. "It's a four hour drive so if we leave at 9 we should be just in time for lunch."
"I still need to tell the guys I'm skipping out on them." I laugh nervously, imagining Taes hissy fit. "I'll just tell them I decided to go home."
"Good Idea." He nods, just as the man in question saunters into the room with the rest of the guys following behind him.
Standing to hug each of them as they walk in the room, I notice Yoongi walking with a limp before hissing as he takes a seat at the table.
"What the hell happened to you?" I ask him, furrowing my eyebrows as the rest of them start to laugh.
"Haven happened to him, that's what." Jin informs me, making me laugh also.
"Little rough was she?"
"That would be a major understatement." He huffs before grinning. "And I loved every fucking second of it."
"What did you get up to the rest of the weekend?" Jungkook asks as he waves down a waitress. "We haven't heard from you since we left Sunday night."
"She's been busy." Taehyung smirks, making me glare at him. "Go on Y/N, tell them what you've been doing."
"Well, I went to lunch with you yesterday." I say, looking down at my watch, noticing it's almost time to start the blackjack tournament.
"And what else?" He grins, testing me as Jimin stiffens in his seat.
"And you yelled at me the entire time causing me to run out of the cafe crying."
"You fucking bitch." He breathes out as the guys jump to their feet.
"You fucking did what?!" I hear them all yell at him as I take it as my cue to leave, loving the fact that he tried to throw me under the bus, only for me to take the wheel on his sneaky ass.
