Deciding the safest route being chicken with potatoes and vegetables for the meal tonight, my mom and I left our men happily cooped up yelling at the TV screen each clutching a bottle of beer whilst we made a quick trip to the grocery store.

Looking at the herbs whilst my mom leans on the shopping cart behind me, I make sure to grab some dried sage and some parsley before pointing at another jar on the shelf.

"Tarragon?" My mom grimaces with a shake of the head. "It's nice mixed with mustard but that's about it. It overpowers other herbs used in anything else."

"I couldn't agree more." I breathe out, dropping the jars I chose into the cart.

Noticing my somber face as we continue scanning the isles, my mom shuffles up beside me and links her arm through mine.

"What's on your mind my little princess? You've had this face ever since we left the house."

"Nothing's on my mind." I lie, trying to concentrate on the things I need to buy.

Guiding her to the fresh produce, she continues to glare at me whilst I grab the vegetables I need, doing all I can to avoid eye contact.

"Is it something to do with Jimin?"

"Not exactly." I sigh, stopping to drop the potatoes in the cart.

"So there is something on your mind." She smirks. "Tell me what it is, you never know, maybe I can help."

"Fine." I groan as we stop by the broccoli. "Jimin's mom hates me and you just convinced him to welcome her into my home."

"Hates you?" She scoffs a laugh. "How could anyone hate you? You're an incredible woman."

"You're just saying that because you're my mom. And she's gotten it into her head that I'm just with Jimin because he's successful with a nice bank balance. I was over their house on Christmas day and she was so unbelievably mean that I wound up crying on the phone to Taehyung whilst I locked myself in the bathroom. Jimin got angry, yelled at his entire family and dragged me out of the house and I haven't seen or spoken to them since."

Flaring her nostrils as she takes a large breath, I notice the way her grip has gotten much tighter around the handle of the cart before she continues to push it forward.

"Successful how?" She asks, gritting her teeth as she speaks.

"He's a professional poker player. Which she hates by the way."

"Okay." She nods, still clenching her jaw. "That's impressive. Do they know of your situation?"

"No." I shake my head. "Jimin knows there is something to tell but he's not pushing me on it. Other than my family, only Tae knows."

"Will Tae be stopping by?" She asks, full of hope. She adores him, but then again, who doesn't?

"Probably. I did tell him you were in town."
