Humiliated.

Embarrassed.

Lost.

Numb.

She felt all of these things as she drove away from the casino. With a mind like her own, Y/N needed what most people would call brain training. She needed to keep her mind busy for fear of it turning to mush if she didn't. That's why she started in the casino industry in the first place. With the fast pace maths skills needed, she knew that it was the kind of job that would be sure to sway away any threat of dementia or possibly azlheimers in her later years. Keep the brain ticking her mom would always say.

But now what was she to do? Curl up and die?

She went through all of the emotions on her drive. She was angry, relieved, hurt, but most of all, sad.

She had strived to have a 'normal' life. A normal job and skill that she could call her own so that when strangers would ask 'what do you do for a living?' She had an answer more impressive than 'nothing, I live off of my inheritance.'

She could say, I've travelled the world honing my skill as a croupier and now I run a casino as the head hostess.

But without a gaming license, that couldn't be a way to describe herself.

Not anymore.

Now she's lost. She doesn't know where to go from here...

Ava walked through the casino with her usual cheerful smile, completely unaware of the events that had taken place a few hours prior. She was soon however going to find out that as much as it would terrify her, she's now in charge.

"Hi Daniel!" She sang as she barged into the office, seeing him in his favourite position of head down on the desk, hands tugging at his dark brown hair.

She frowned at this. Everyone had been so cheerful lately, including him. So to see that something had obviously upset him enough to drag him back down didn't settle right with her.

Lifting his head to look at her, he gave her a forced smile before dropping his head back down. Not before she noticed his puffy eyes.

"What's going on?" She frowned, stepping cautiously towards his desk.

He let out a harsh sigh as he kept his head down. He didn't want to say it. As if avoiding the words would make it all not real somehow. Like burying your head in the sand to avoid having to deal with grownup issues.

"We lost Y/N." He mumbles.

"What do you mean lost her? She quit?" Ava frowned, dropping her bag by what was once Y/N's desk.

"Turns out she was in an apparently pretty serious relationship with one of our players. She's just been fired by the CEO."

"Oh my god." Ava breathed out in shock.

Leaving him in the office, Ava charged towards the poker room, hoping that the guys would already be in there ready to play.

Pushing the door open with a thud, all of the guys were sitting in their usual seats, looking up at her in shock as she looked around at each of them.

"What's the matter?" Jin asked, noticing her discomfort instantly.

"It's Y/N." At that they were already up from their seats, walking towards the panic stricken woman. "She's been fired."

Without needing to hear another word, the five of them are charging towards the entrance of the casino walking past Daniel on their way.

"Big fucking mistake!" Hobi seethed through gritted teeth, pointing a threatening finger in his direction as they passed him.

Piling into their cars, they flew in the direction of the home Y/N and Jimin shared. They couldn't fathom how terrible she must be feeling at this moment. She had just been fired from a job she loved whilst her boyfriend was out of state. They knew she would be going out of her mind right now.

Calling Taehyung on the way to her house, Jungkook only described briefly to his brother his best friend's woes, knowing that with Jimin not being around, he was the one person she was really going to need beside her right now.

"Why are you all out here?" Tae frowned as he pulled up to the gate in a hurry, seeing the rest of them in their cars outside of the grounds of her home.

"We don't know the code and she's not answering us." Jin explained quickly, jumping back in his car to follow the rest of them through the gates and up the drive.

Approaching the house they could see the lights on in the foyer, indicating that someone was in the house.

Jumping hastily from their cars, they all ran towards the house pushing the door open and calling her name loudly only to be met with silence and an unamused look from the chef clutching his chest in fear at the men that startled him.

Ignoring his glare Tae runs up the stairs, calling her name desperately trying to find her as he goes from room to room. Letting out a frustrated grunt as he checks the last empty room he makes his way back towards the stairs. Looking over the banister at Jungkook, he starts to grow even more worried for his best friend as Jungkook gives him a shake of the head with his phone to his ear.

"She's turned it off."

"We have to tell Jimin." Tae sighed harshly. He was hoping to avoid this.

Meanwhile...

Looking up at the darkness above her she appreciated the cold breeze whipping around her body. She almost forgot how cruel spring could be. Teasing you with warm sun filled days, only to remind you that it's not quite summer just yet with it's bitterly cold nights.

She was still struggling to come to terms with today's events.

The way she had lost her job was not like any other job being lost. Losing a job should mean you could always just move onto another company in the same field. But with losing her license, her career had literally been ripped away from her. She can't work in a casino without it. At least not in the US.

She laughed at the thought of even attempting to obtain a license in another country knowing that, that scrawny little asshole from the gaming board already probably has her blacklisted.

Filling her glass with more of the ruby red liquid she stopped to pick up on her way from the casino, she swilled it around a few times, watching the wine almost spill over the edge, but not quite. Giving the perfect design of the glass its purpose. To contain the thing it was made to hold.

Letting out a deep thoughtful breath, she looked back to the sky, cursing the light pollution that stopped her from seeing anything other than darkness.
