Chapter 4

Peter POV

"Lensherr was identified yesterday, in this small town in central Poland." The reporter on the T.V. said. "Leaders from all communities are urging their citizens to remain calm. As police and armed forces are mobilizing to find Lensherr before he can strike again. If anyone has information about Lensherr or as he is also known, Magneto,contact your local authorities..." I studied the old card in my hands. Wondering for the millionth time if I should go there. Xavier's School was probably where Serene went. Or maybe she was looking for Eric, our dad.

"....and proceed with caution." The T.V. reporter continued saying. "As he is considered extremely..."

"Peter!" My mom's voice called from upstairs. I quickly dashed forward and changed the channel, then went over and started playing Pac-Man, as if nothing happened.

"What's up?" I called as I played the game.

"Just checking on you." My mom said as she came down the stairs.

"I'm good. Playing Pac-Man." I said. Suddenly I heard the TV switch to a different channel.

"Are you sure you weren't watching this?" She asked.

"This news comes at a time when the world is celebrating 10 years of peace between mutants and mankind." The man on the news channel said.

"You're going after them, aren't you?" My mom asked. I sighed.

"You wanted me to get out of the house more, right?" I said.

"I can't stop you. Nobody can." She said. "But trust me, this won't end well. Nothing does with them." I got off a Pac-Man and turned to face her.

"I'm not afraid of him." I said. "And I'm going to get Serene back."

"You should be." She said. "And that little monster, she deserves to be locked up." My mom dropped the remote and headed back upstairs. I clenched my fist tightly from what she had said. But I was going to prove her wrong. I pulled the card back out. I was going to find Serene.

Serene

I walked down the hall. That's when I saw Hank, Alex, and a woman talking to each other. She had short brown hair. I recognized her as Moira McTaggert, an old friend of Charles'.

"Serene!" Alex said when he saw me. I waved and walked over to them. Hank turned to Moria.

"This is Serene Lensherr, one of the students here." Hank said, introducing me to Moria. Moira and I shook hands.

"Hello Serene, I'm Moira McTaggert." She said. "So, your last name is Lensherr?"

"Yeah." I said quietly. She gave a quick glance at Alex. He nodded. She looked at me, about to say something.

"I've never actually met him before." I said before she could ask the question. I turned to Hank.

"Where's the professor?" I asked.

"He's talking to Raven." He said pointing to the door behind him. I nodded. Suddenly the door opened.

"Moira, Alex, Hank, would please follow me." Charles said as he came out of the room with Raven. That's when Charles saw me.

"Ah, Serene, you need to come too, my dear." He said. I was confused, but I nodded.
