3 Years Later

Serene POV

It's been 3 years since Cairo. I am now 16 years old. Charles has made the X-men known to the public, and we know help a lot more than I could ever imagine. Also, I don't really know how, but I can magnify Peter's powers. Don't ask me how, I just can. I've tried to do the same to Scott, but it doesn't work. Probably just a brother/sister thing. But anyway, Charles had just gotten a call from NASA about a spaceship....

Scott, Kurt, Jean, Storm, Peter, and I walked swiftly down the hall in our new X-men uniforms. They were black flight suits with yellow an x across our shoulders and chest. We walked into the hangar where our black warplane was, where Hank and Raven were all waiting for us.

"It's a simple extraction." Raven explained. "We go into space, we get the astronauts, we bring them home. Any questions?"

"Yeah," Scott said. "Like a thousand."

"We don't have time for a thousand." Raven said quickly.

"We're doing space missions now?" Peter said, nodding. "Cool."

"Let's go," Raven said. She turned around and started walking to the jet with us following her.

In space everything was black. Except for earth, our ship, the rocket with the astronauts we were trying to save and .....

"That's...a solar flare?" I asked, leaning forward into my seat. It looked almost like a solar flare, but it was much different. It was a pink, purple, white, orange, yellow, energy looking thing coming towards the astronauts rocket.

"No, I've never seen anything like this." Hank answered.

"Kurt, take Peter and Serene. Go!" Raven shouted. Kurt grabbed mine and Peter's shoulders and teleported us to the rocket. In the rocket, the alarm was going off and different pieces of metal, most possibly pieces of the ship, were floating around. One of the astronauts slowly looked back at us.

"Be right back," Peter said to Kurt, then nodded at me. I closed my eyes and focused. The same blood red color enveloped my eyes, but something was different. I could feel my energy surging through my body. I looked back at the 'solar flare' and felt the surge increasing.

"Make it quick," I said quietly. Peter nodded. It felt as though time was slowing down. I knew it was Peter, but why wasn't it affecting me.

Destroy it, a voice said in my head. No power can have existed for so long. Ghost kills the phoenix. But next thing I knew, Peter had gotten all of the astronauts out of their seats and they each had a hand on Kurt. Then, we teleported.

Well guys, sorry for this short, horrible chapter. My dad didn't get Dark Phoenix (even though I asked him 2 weeks ago) and I tried to look up the scene on Youtube, but this was literally all I got. They would all get this far and then play the trailer. But hopefully by next week I'll have Dark Phoenix and actually write a good chapter. And yes, this chapter does have some fore-shadowing. If I don't post anything next Saturday, that means that my dad didn't get the DVD, but hopefully I'll have it.
