Serene POV
First, we landed at either an army or NASA flight landing zone to drop off the astronauts. A lot of people and kids were there cheering us on. We all smiled and gave them small waves.
Then we went back to the school. All the kids were by the stairs cheering us on again. It was quite flattering. But something still didn't feel right. Every time I looked at Jean I felt some sort of violent urge to destroy her. And it was scaring me. She was my best friend, how could I possibly think of such a thing? But I tried to push those thoughts out of my head and celebrate another mission success.
"That's enough, boys and girls. That's enough," Charles said. "The X-Men have today done an incredibly brave thing. They've once again proved to humanity exactly why they need us, people like yourselves. The president sends his regards, as well as his heartfelt gratitude. And, as for myself, I've never been prouder. Enjoy yourselves. You certainly deserve it. In fact, you all do. No more, close for the rest of the day." At that note, all the kids started cheering and clapping again. I was grateful as well, because after this mission, I just needed time to myself. To try and straighten things out. Everyone started to disperse, when Charles called Jean over. Jean walked over to him, but I could still hear what they were saying.
"You gave us quite a scare up there." Charles said. "How are you feeling?"
"Actually, I..." Jean stammered. "I feel fine."
"Hank?" Charles called. Hank was talking to a group of kids and turned to look at him.
"Yeah?" He asked.
"Would you take a look at Jean?" Charles asked. "Standard medical for anyone injured in the field. Thank you." Jean and Hank walked out of the room towards where the clinic was.
"I basically did everything," Peter was telling a group of students. "I mean, Jean did a little, like towards the end, but it was mostly all me."
"Are you sure you're not forgetting a main character?" I challenged, coming up behind my older brother. Peter laughed and put his arm around my shoulders. Then he turned back to the kids.
"And Serene helped, too." Peter explained. "But just a bit." I gave him a friendly punch in the side.
"Aw, you're being too humble," I said sarcastically. As Peter continued telling his story to the kids, I started heading towards Charles' office only to hear Raven's voice.
"...changing the name to X-Women." Raven fumed out the door of Charles' office. I slowly opened the door to his office and stepped inside. Charles' was at his desk looking at papers.
"Um, Charles..." I started. "Can I ask you something?" Charles looked up at me and nodded.
"What is it, Serene?" He asked. I tried to gather my thoughts together.
"I've..." I attempted to explain. "I've been hearing voices." Charles raised an eyebrow.
"I have a feeling there's more to the story," He said. "Take a seat." For the next fifteen or so minutes, I explained the mission from my point of view and the voices I had been hearing.
"Please don't tell anyone," I whispered. "Especially not Jean or Peter."
"I won't." Charles promised. "So, let me get this straight. You had a feeling to destroy the solar flare and when Jean absorbed it, or whatever she did, you had a feeling to destroy her too."
"Not had, have." I corrected. "It's scaring me. I don't know what it is or why I'm feeling this way." Charles looked at me for a moment and sighed.
"Serene, you of all people know how hard it is to deal with emotions," He explained. "And almost losing one of your first friends today, maybe you just need some rest. Tomorrow, once you're not shaken, we can talk more about it. How does that sound?" I nodded in agreement.
"Thank you, professor." I said, getting up to leave.
"Serene," He said. I turned back to look at him. "You have more power then you know. And that power is a gift, whether you see it or not. It's just how we choose to use the gift that counts." I stood there for a moment before nodding and heading out the door.

Hey guys, sorry I haven't posted in awhile. Last week I had an audition for Moana, and I did get in! With theater back in the loop of things, I might not be able to post as often, but I will still try. Also, do you guys know Dream SMP? I recently got into it and omg its amazing. Wilbur, Fundy, Ranboo, Tommy, and Tubbo are my favorites. But anyway, thank you guys so much for reading and I will hopefully post again next Saturday, unless life gets in the way again.
