Serene POV

Even though I wasn't sitting close to them, I knew what they were talking about. Raven. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't erase the memory of her death from my mind. She had saved me. She didn't have to, but she did. I should've been the one in the grave. Not her. She didn't deserve it. I did. I had killed far more people than she did. And yet she was the one paying the price. And now Jean had to pay. If only she hadn't been stupid enough to find her father we wouldn't be in this mess. If she had just listened to us. But no. She had to let her emotions get in the way of reason.

"There's been a sighting of the girl," One of the mutants said, coming over to Erik and Hank.

"Where?" I demanded, quickly standing up.

"New York." She answered. "We'll have eyes on the ground when we get there." Hank, Erik, and I all looked at each other. We knew what we had to do.

We landed in a park right outside a large building. Erik was wearing his helmet, the one that he always used to wear. Hank was in his beast form, and one of Erik's mutants, Red Lotus, was next to us. The woman who had spoken to us earlier, Seline, was up ahead.

"She's in there," Seline said as we walked towards her.

"Hello, old friend." A voice said from behind us. I knew who it was. We all stopped and slowly turned around. Scott, Charles, Storm, and Kurt were all standing next to each other a little ways away from where we were.

"Save the 'old friend' shit, Charles." Erik said. "And stay out of my way."

"I'm sorry for what she did." Charles continued. "But I can't let you go in there."

"You're always sorry, Charles." Erik said, taking a few steps forward. "And there's always a speech. But nobody cares anymore."

"We do this here, now, they'll see us as monsters." Charles answered. "Violent freaks, fighting on the streets of New York."

"What did I tell you?" Erik said quietly, turning to Hank and I.

"Damn it, man, your homeland will be gone." Charles exclaimed. "Everything you care about."
"Save it." I hissed at him.

"If you touch her, I will f*cking kill you." Scott yelled, taking a few steps forward.

"Don't do this, Erik." Charles said. "Killing Jean will not bring Raven back."

"The girl dies." Erik answered. And that was the moment all hell started to break loose.

Again, sorry these are kinda getting short, but I had to do it for this chapter because there is a really long fight scene and I wanted that to be it's own chapter.
