Serene POV
"Our dear Father..." Kurt said as he whispered his prayer. "Hold me in the light of God."
"It should have been me." Scott said, his voice breaking. "He was the one that was gonna do something with his life. He was always the one."
"That's not how he felt." I said. "He felt you were the one that was gonna do something special with your life. That you were gonna make a difference in the world. Maybe even change it."
"How do you know what he felt?" Scott asked.
"He was my best friend." I told him. "When I ran away, when I was lost, alone, and scared, Alex was the one that found me. He helped me learn to control my abilities, and he helped me realize that we shouldn't be afraid of our abilities. That we should embrace them, because whether we like it or not, they are a part of us." There was a long silence. I grabbed Scott's hand and squeezed it tightly. Tears were rolling down his cheeks from under the glasses that Hank made him.
"Hold me in the light of God." Kurt said quietly, resuming his prayer. Protect me from danger. Save me by Your command. Listen to my prayer. And keep me safe."
Erik POV
"You're blocking me." Charles groaned as he woke up. "How?"
"I can shield their minds from your power." Apocalypse said. "It's one of the many gifts I've acquired throughout the millennia. But to see inside a mind...to control it...that's your gift. You saw it, didn't you? The glory of what's to come."
"You're going to take part in all this killing and destruction?" Charles asked me.
"It's all I've ever known." I said.
"No, it isn't." Charles said, shaking his head. "You've just forgotten."
"No, Charles, I remember." I said angrily. "Your way doesn't work."
"I've shown him a better way." Apocalypse said. "A better world."
"No, you've just tapped into his rage and pain. That's all you've done." Charles turned to me. "I told you from the moment I met you there is more to you, Erik. There is good in you, too."
"Whatever it is you think you saw in me, Charles..." I started. "I buried it. With my family."
Peter POV
I slowly opened my eyes as I woke up. The first thing I saw when I opened my eyes was a giant blue furry...thing. It was Hank.
"Ah!" I yelled, standing up instantly.
"What?" Raven and Moria asked at the same time, as they slowly sat up.
"What's wrong with you?" I asked Hank. "Is that going to happen to all of us?"
"No, I just..." Hank groaned as he started to stand up. "Left me meds in the house."
"What happened? Where are we?" Moira asked.
"Hey!" Raven shouted looking up. A man was at the glass, about 15 feet above us.
"Hello, Mystique." He said in a cold voice through the speakers.
"Major Stryker." Raven said.
"Colonel Stryker." He corrected. "I wouldn't get too close to the wall, if I were you. It may create some discomfort." I could tell that the walls were surrounded by some electric wiring.
"I'm Moira MacTaggert. I'm a senior officer at the CIA." Moria started.
"I know who you are, Agent MacTaggert." Stryker said.
"You cannot keep me here, in this..." Moria started again.
"Actually, I can." Stryker announced. "A psychic event just destroyed every nuke from here to Moscow. That event emanated from exactly where we found you. At the home of the world's most powerful psychic. So, you are going to tell me, where is Charles Xavier?"
"It's not him you should be worried about." Moria said, glaring at him. "There's someone else. Someone more powerful."
"If you let us out of here, we can help you." Raven offered.
"Do you really expect me to believe that?" He asked. "You can put on any face you want, but I know who you are. What you are." With that, Stryker turned off the microphone and walked away. Raven turned and faced the rest of us.
"Hey, Moira, um..." Hank started. "What did you mean when you said someone more powerful than Charles?"
