I woke up in my bed, almost as though nothing had happened. Which made me confused. Incredibly confused. The sunlight almost blinded my eyes, but I quickly closed them before they could do any real damage.

"You're finally awake," Eric's voice said from the corner of the room.

"Of course I am," I sighed, keeping my eyes closed. "How long have I been out?"

"About two days," He answered calmly.

"Why am I not surprised," I muttered. I opened my eyes and slowly sat up. Eric was standing in the corner of the room, his arms crossed in front of his chest. He had a few cuts and bruises on his face, but overall he looked fine.

"Peter's been waiting for you to wake up," Eric sighed, stepping closer to the bed. "He's been worried. We've all been."

"Jean's dead," I sighed. "I helped kill her."

"We know," Eric said in a whisper. "But you did the right thing."

"Does everyone think that?" Eric looked at me for a moment without replying.

"Those who don't will think so in time." He said so calmly that I thought he was telling the truth. Maybe he was, maybe he wasn't. Or maybe it was just his belief. Maybe he had more faith in people after all.

"What things have changed?" I asked.

"It's the 'Jean Grey School For Gifted Youngsters' now," He said. "Charles is retiring, and Hank is in charge of the school. And you are our new recruiter, if you agree." I just stared at him.

"That's all happened in two days?" I asked.

"Yeah, pretty much." Eric shrugged. I gave a small smile.

"Of course when I'm unconscious all the work gets done," I said. Eric gave a small laugh.

"We just always seem to find trouble, you and I," He said.

"Yeah," I said. "It does."

The boy, not much older than me, sat at the cafe table. He kept his head down and from beneath his fingers, ice formed.

I walked over to him and sat at the seat opposite. His head jerked up and he looked startled.

"Sorry," I said politely. "I didn't mean to startle you."

"Can I....help you with anything?" He asked, confused, looking around nervously.

"No," I stated plainly, leaning back in my seat. "But there's something I can help you with." He looked down at his fingers, then looked back up at me.

"Who are you?" He asked. I smiled and leaned forward again.

"I am Serene Lehnsherr from the Jean Grey school," I said. "But most people call me Ghost."

Hey guys! This is the end, unfortunately, for this story. I have other really cool story ideas that I will do in the future (2022). I've been working on a story that I actually want to publish as a book so that will be my main focus, so when I do write my other fan fictions, they will be more spaced apart.

Make sure you guys are followed, it would really mean the world to me, and you guys will be the first to know when I start my next series.

Also, ARG!
