Bullets cut through the air straight into the hostile - alien ripping off pieces of his skin and clothing. But when the bullets stopped, he was completely fine. The bullet holes closed up themselves. Everyone just stared at him for a moment before someone above us opened fire. This time he did fall to the ground, but the second he did, two more aliens came through. They each went for a guard knocking them to the floor. A few guards got back up and continued to fire at them, but one of the guards rushed past us to the control panel and hit a giant red button. One of the aliens grabbed a guard by the neck, lifted him up into the air, and threw him right at the guard who was firing from above. The guard who had been at the control panel pushed a keycard inside, pressed a few buttons, and then there was a clicking noise coming from the chains we were wearing around our ankles and necks. I quickly yanked them off and jumped onto my feet like the others. We all walked into a position, guarding the door behind us. Five or six aliens stood in front of us.
"We only want the girl." The alien in front said. "Step aside."
"No!" Hank shouted.
"What are you doing?" Seline asked.
"What Raven would have." He answered. And then he transformed into a beast. Erik reached out his hand and pulled pieces of metal off the interior of the train and threw them at the aliens. Then, we all raced into action.
"Scott, get me to Jean!" I heard Charles shout. I had an instinct to go back with them, but right now, that was not important. Instead, I turned back and started fighting the aliens. The black smoke curling around my hands and I walked straight up to one of the aliens and punched him across the face. He flew backwards and had cuts across his face where I had just punched him. I looked at the black smoke. That had never happened before. But then I got excited. My energy could physically hurt someone. And the alien wasn't healing. As he came back for round two, I kicked him in the stomach and started to do everything in my power to hurt him as much as I could. As I was doing that, Storm had flown out of the train car, into the sky, where she fought the incoming aliens. All the others continued to fight as well. Erik used metal scraps to puncture the aliens with the help of Seline using her daggers. For a second, we could take a breath as Lotus and Hank took on the others. Just then, a hand reached through the giant gap on the side of the train where Seline was standing. It grabbed the top of her head and threw her out of the train car.
"Seline!" Erik yelled, rushing to the gap. "Hank!" Hank turned and looked at him. "Help Storm!" Hank nodded and jumped on top of the train car.
"What do you need me to do?" I asked.
"Slowly make your way forward," he explained. "Kill on sight. If it gets too difficult, I need you to turn back and find me, do you understand?"
"I understand." I nodded. We stared at each other for another moment.
"I'm very proud of you, Serene." He said in a whisper. Then, he went back off to fight aliens. I stood where I was for a second, in shock. He said he was proud of me. He is proud of me. I snapped back into focus and made my way forward.
