Serene POV
I slowly opened my eyes. I was not in Cairo, but I knew where I was. I was in a small booth at a diner. No one was here except me. It was quiet. It was peaceful.
"So, Ghost. What comes next?" A voice asked. I turned around to see Alex standing in the doorway.
"Am I dead?" I asked. Alex shook his head and walked across the room towards me.
"No." He stated plainly.
"Then why am I here?" Alex sat down across from me and leaned back against the seat, sighing deeply. He looked around the room.
"Do you remember this place?" He asked.
"Yeah," I answered, nodding slowly.
"So do I," He sighed. "This was where I first met you. You were what? Eight, nine, years old? Charles helped me track you down. And I found you here. I convinced you to come to the school with me."
"Yeah, well the school's gone." I scoffed. Alex rubbed his forehead.
"Yeah, sorry about that."
"You got yourself killed," I said angrily. "If you just-"
"If I just what, Serene?" He interrupted. "No matter what I did, they still would have gotten away with Charles. Agent Striker still would have come."
"You didn't answer my question," I said, changing the subject.
"We both know you have more questions than you would care to admit." He stated.
"Why am I here?" I asked again.
"Because I wanted to talk to you." Alex said. "It took awhile for me to get to you, but here we are."
"But how did I get here?" I asked, confused. Alex leaned in closer to me as though he was about to share something important.
"Did you not hear what Apocalypse kept calling you?" He questioned.
"He, uh, said something about 'death in the flesh'." I answered.
"And that means something," Alex explained. "I can't tell you everything right now. You're not ready."
"Not ready?"
"You'll find out soon enough. The less you know, the better." What was that supposed to mean? What could I possibly not be ready for? I just shook my head.
"I just need to get back."
"Back where?" He asked.
"Well, last I checked, we were fighting in Cairo." Alex sighed.
"Fine. You can go back. But know this; You can not die, yet you are already dead." I felt myself getting pulled again. But when I opened my eyes, I was in the last place I expected to be.
The room was dark. But I knew where I was. The school. In the middle of the room, I saw them. Jean, Charles, and Apocalypse. Apocalypse was about 2 or 3 times his regular size. Charles was on the floor, his breath short and strangled. He had cuts and all along his arms and face. Finally, I looked at Jean. Her arms were spread out and her eyes were glowing a yellowish orange color. Around her circled a colored energy that looked almost like fire. She was using all her energy that had been inside her all along.
"Serene!" Charles shouted. "Unleash the Ghost!" But I just stood there. I didn't know what to do. I couldn't control my abilities.
You are the ghost of death, a woman's voice said in my head. You know what to do. That's when I felt it. A sudden urge. I felt my eyes start to turn the same blood red color they would turn almost every night. I could feel the energy surging out. It was black like smoke, but it didn't smell the same. It also looked like electricity was mixed in a well, sometimes there would be a few sparks. But it was not enough. I closed my eyes and focused.
When I opened my eyes, I was back in Cairo. But not where I had been before I blacked out. I was in a 2 story house on the top floor. But the whole front of the house was gone. In front of it were 2 metal beams shaped like and X. Then I realized. My dad. He...was fighting. On our side. Jean was standing in front of the X, her power trying to harm Apocalypse. I slowly stood up.
"What are you doing?" Moria asked. But I ignore her. I could hardly see what was going on besides what Jean was doing. The fire is like energy around her was shaped like a phoenix. As I walked forward, I could feel my heartbeat echoing in my ears. As I got closer to Jean, I realized that she was standing on air. But I didn't do the same. I walked downwards, as if there was a staircase there. I got closer and closer to Apocalypse. The fire and metal circled around him. He groaned to look up at me coming to him.
"No!" He hissed. "It's isn't my time to die. I can never die!"
"Everything dies except death!" I shot back. "Even you." I slowly put my hand towards him, palm facing him. Suddenly, I felt a ripping feeling and the smoke continued to circle my body. I could almost feel the heat from my eyes as they turned red. The black smoke continued to go towards him, faster and faster. The second it touched his skin, it was as if an invisible force was ripping his skin off. His armor broke off first, making his chest visible to hurt. I could see my dad using his metal manipulation to send metal bars at him. They impaled Apocalypse, but still seemed to not do much damage. Scott used his laser eyes to continue trying to hurt him. Then the storm girl who used to be on Apocalypse's side used lightning to break a dome around him, letting me get closer. I could see the white of his eyes. Finally, the black smoke touched his face. He shrieked in pain as the skin started to rip off the bottom of his face, revealing bone. I closed my eyes and focused harder.
"All...is...revealed." Apocalypse managed to say before I let all hell loose. More black energy shot at him, but more deadly. His skinned ripped off from the impact. His body continued to disintegrate until there was nothing left.

It will still be on this story tho. Thank you so much for reading, and I will be updating every Saturday. Happy Easter!
