Serene POV
"Once they finish these, we'll go from there." The guard said to the other as they walked past us. Jean was using her telekinesis so that they wouldn't see us. When they had turned the corner, Jean nodded at me and we went back to where Scott and Kurt were.
"What's taking so long?" Scott asked Kurt.
"I can't get in." Kurt said. "They have a field around it, like the helicopter."
"There's gotta be a way to cut the power." I stated.
Erik POV
"Charles..." Apocalypse said. "...you will send a message to every living mind. You will tell them that this earth will be laid waste. That it is I, En Sabah Nur, who will wreak this upon them." Charles looked at me, as if begging me to stop. "Now..." Apocalypse started to say again. "Deliver my message."
"Even if I wanted to," Charles said. "I couldn't reach that many people. I don't have Cerebro."
Apocalypse scoffed. "You don't need a machine to amplify your powers. You have me."
Serene POV
We followed Scott down the halls and we seemed to walk for hours. Suddenly we were voices coming down the hallway. We backed up against the walls as the guards went by, thankfully not noticing us. When they were out of sight the door closed, blocking us from going any farther.
"Guys," Scott said. "That could be our way out of here."
Peter POV
Hank paced around the room nervously.
"You know him?" I asked Raven. "Magneto?"
"I used to." She said, staring up at the ceiling, deep in thought. "Not so sure anymore."
"What was he like?" I asked. "Was he, uh... Like they say he was? Was he...the bad guy?"
"No." Raven said calmly. "I mean, yeah. He was...Why do you care so much? You see his speech on TV or something?"
"Yeah," I said nodding. "But, uh...He's my father."
"What?" She said louder, looking at me weirdly.
"Him and my mom, they did it." I said awkwardly.
"No, I mean.." she started. "Are you sure?"
"Yeah." I said. "He left my mom before I was born. I met him 10 years back but I didn't know it was him. By the time I figured it out, it was too late. Then, this week I saw him on TV again, and I came to that house, looking for him...But by the time I got there...Late again."
"What about Serene?" Raven asked. "I mean, she's Erik's daughter."
"Yeah." I said nodding. "She um, had a different mom. I don't really know what happened, but when she was about a year old Charles sent her to live with us. Apparently she needed to live in a normal house, normal people, to keep her powers at bay. But that didn't really work."
"I'm sorry." She said. "But I thought you came looking for Serene, not just Erik." I nodded.
"I was looking for Serene, but also Erik." I said. "Before Serene left she would always talk about finding her dad. And I figured that she would be wherever he was. And convince him to stay. It meant so much to her, to find out about her abilities. " I sighed. "For a guy who moves as fast as me, I always seem to be too late."
"Let's hope not this time." Raven said.
"Yeah." I said. "Seriously."
"Hear me inhabitants of this world," I heard a voice say in my head. I looked at Raven. She could hear it too.
Serene POV
"What is that?" Scott asked.
"This is a message..." The voice continued.
"I think it's the Professor." I said.
"A message to every man, woman, and mutant in the world." Charles continued. "You have lost your way. But I have returned. The day of reckoning is here. All your buildings, all your towers and temples will fall. And the dawn of a new age will rise. For there is nothing you can do to stop what is coming. This message is for one reason alone. To tell the strongest among you. Those with the greatest power.....Protect those without."
