Serene POV

Hank sat in his normal seat, while I was in the seat where Raven used to sit.

"So you agree with me?" I asked. "You're really going along with my plan?"

"It's the only plan we have." He answered. Then I finally saw it. The Island. Where Erik was. Where he kept mutants safe. The one place the government, or the world, could hurt mutants. Or so it promised. I had never been there before, so I had no idea what to expect. But I, we, needed to find Erik.

We finally landed the plane in a clearing surrounded by trees. There was a small wooden path leading through the trees and out of the clearing, which I figured led to the village. So naturally, we went down that path.

I was surprised by all the mutants there were. More than the school had. Most of them stopped what they were doing to look at us walking in.

"Would now be too late to go invisible?" I whispered to Hank.

"Probably," He whispered back. That's when I noticed something. There was a wrecked plane in the middle of another clearing near houses. Shards of metal littered the ground.

"Where are the rest of them?" A familiar voice asked. I turned away from the wrecked plane and saw Erik coming towards us.

"No, just us." Hank answered.

"What, no Charles?" Erik asked. "If you're looking for Jean, she's gone."

"No, we know that." I answered.

"Well, hello to you too, Serene." Erik gave a small smile.

"Hey Erik," I smiled. Erik turned back to Hank.

"So why are you here, Hank?" He asked.

"You have eyes and ears around the world to help you find mutants for this place." Hank said. "I want you to help us find Jean."

"I've no reason to find her." Erik answered simply.

"Not for us," I answered. "Do it for Raven."

"Did she send you?" Erik answered.

"You don't know?" I whispered, looking down. Images of what happened flashed through my head again as tears started to burn the corners of my eyes.

"Know what, Hank?" Erik asked slowly and dangerously.

"Raven's dead." I said, forcing myself to look up. "Jean killed her." I could see Erik start to tremble as he looked away. He walked over to the plane and put a hand on one of the metal beams to keep himself steady.

"I need you to help us find Jean." Hank said again, his voice wavering.

"If I find her, I'll kill her." Erik said, still not looking at us.

"I know." Hank said.

No other power more powerful than death. No other power is longer than death. Death kills the Phoenix.
