Mimic - Bucky Barnes (Romantic)

I walked around the tower with my headphones in. My favourite song was on, and I was jamming out to the beat. I walked to the kitchen, ready to make some food.

When the chorus of the song came on, I jumped up on the kitchen island and belted the lyrics out. The Avengers were used to this, so I didn't think they'd mind.

I heard my name being called loudly. I took out an earphone and looked to see the whole team assembled, with a newcomer. I jumped down off the island, not embarrassed in the slightest.

"Y/n," Steve began, "this is Bucky."

I smiled at Bucky. He smiled hesitantly back. I smiled wider and shifted my appearance to look like Bucky. He jumped slightly.

"Hi, I'm Mimic," I introduced. "We've met before. You ripped a steering wheel out of my hands."

Steve closed his eyes and Natasha facepalmed. I was referring to the time when Hydra had infiltrated Shield, and Bucky - or, I suppose, the Winter Soldier - had attacked us.

"Sorry about that," he said sheepishly.

I waved off his apology.

"I don't blame you," I said.

That conversation led to three months of an amazing friendship. But of course I had to ruin it by catching feelings.

"He's so kind," I said to Natasha and Wanda.

It was girls' night and they had convinced me to rant about how I felt about him.

"He's thoughtful, too. You know he bought me a new pair of shoes when I mentioned that Sam set my old ones on fire? And his hair is so soft. He lets me braid it all the time. And he's so hot. It should be illegal to be that hot."

I slumped onto Wanda's bed and covered my face with my hands.

"And he just heard you."

I looked to the doorway to see Bucky leaning against the door frame with his arms crossed and a smirk on his face. I felt my spirit leave my body for a moment and heat rush to my cheeks.

"You really think all that about me, Doll?" he asked.

I slowly nodded. I couldn't lie, he just heard me.

"Good thing I feel the same way, huh?" he said.

I felt my jaw drop.

"I - what?" I said dumbly.

Bucky just rolled his eyes.

"Do you mind if I steal her?" Bucky asked Wanda and Natasha.

They both told him to take me away. He grabbed my hand and led me to his bedroom. I was still trying to figure everything out. Did he like me too?

"Doll, I think you are the most amazing person I have ever met," Bucky said, grabbing both my hands in his.

Before I could overthink it, I captured Bucky's lips into a kiss. He kissed me back and his hands found my waist. I ran my fingers through his hair.

When we finally pulled back, I smirked at him, ready to potentially ruin the moment.

"Your hair is really soft."
