Mystery Girl

I grabbed my sweater and some jeans out of my newly organized closet and began to get ready. It was much colder here than back home so it was good that I brought so many jackets. After changing I started to do my hair and makeup. Once I finished my makeup and straightened my hair it was 8:50 pm. Adyline wanted to go around 9.

I headed downstairs to meet Adyline who was already dressed and ready. She said "Hey! Looks like you're ready too! Right on time, let's go!" We then headed out after telling Mary where we were going. She hugged us goodbye and we were on our way.

Once we arrived we meet some of Adyline's friends at the front. Dylan was already there in a group of kids, but I didn't see Max. Adyline walked into the group and began to introduce everyone to me.

"This is Maddox Smith." Adyline said while directing my gaze to a tall boy with black hair and icy eyes. His hair was wavy and parted in the middle. For some reason, he reminded me of lots of boys back home. " He is the captain of the football (soccer) team and Max's best friend. Speaking of Max where is he Maddox?" continued Adyline.

Maddox spoke and said "Hello" to me in a very American accent. "So he must be from the states" I thought. "Hi" I smiled, almost forgetting my own accent. He smiled back and then looked back at Adyline saying "Max will be here soon, he wanted to get you a present for your six month anniversary. It's today right?"

"Oh my god! I completely forgot! You're right, it's today! I can't believe it. Tomorrow I need to go out and get him something. Hopefully, he won't be too mad. I feel horrible!" Adyline voiced sadly. "Anyways this is Rene Parsons. Not much to say about this one!" she laughed. Rene had a very strong build and dark skin. He was very tall and had great style. I looked down at his shoes which were Jordan 1 Mochas. "Hi Rene. I'm Zara" I spoke. "Your shoes are super cool!"

He looked at me and said "Hey Zara, and thanks I just got them to add to my collection. I could hook you up with some if you want."

"Oh my god really! That would be great!" I exclaimed.

Adyline laughed and introduced me to the others in the group. "You already have meet Dylan, but this is Kailyn Senteva." Kailyn had tan skin, long brown hair done into french braids, and green eyes. She had a small button nose and seemed perfect. She was quite tall and had on a Louis Vuitton bag. "Her father is the headmaster of Christ Church so I suggest you get on her good side" joked Adyline.

I laughed and said "Nice to meet you Kailyn! Your very pretty!"

She shot me a smile and said "Thank you so much! So are you!" she then looked at Adyline and said "I think I found my new best friend!"

We all laughed and turned to see Max approaching with another girl by his side. She had dark hair, dark eyes, and was dressed in dark clothing. Max was also dressed in dark clothing so they looked like some weird couple to me. I looked at Adyline who had run up to them. She hugged Max and I could tell she was trying to make it obvious to the other girl that he was hers. The unknown girl stared at them and stopped by Max's side for a second, but then locked eyes with me and began walking towards the group.

I was very confused at this moment. Was Max cheating on Adyline? Is she why he was late? Why would he bring her here? Does Adyline know her? Why is she walking towards us like that? What is happening?
