After exiting the theater I was unsure of where to go. The night had basically been a waste of time and I had no way of getting home. It was dark, about 10:30 pm, I couldn't walk and I wasn't sure if England had rideshare services. I had come with Adyline, but going back with her wasn't really an option. I decided I would call Mary and just as I was about to call her a man approached me from behind.
"Hey. You look like you need a ride. I would be down to give you one. After all my showing just ended" he said. He was a tall man dressed in a black suit. He had dark hair and from what I could tell seemed about 30.
"Uhm no I am ok. Thank you though, my mom is coming" I said. I was kind of concerned for my safety, but if this man tried anything he was definitely going to get it from me. I was already angry and had the temper of a ticking time bomb.
Just then he reached for my hand and said "Sierra I think it would be best if you came with me. Your father won't be happy about this, but if you come now maybe he will cut you some slack."
As he said this my heart began racing. This man knew my name and my father. He was definitely one of my father's men or a British ally. "You've got to be kidding me" I thought.
"Uhm I am not sure who you think you are talking to. I don't know of any 'Sierra'. You should probably leave me alone before I call the cops or better yet my boyfriend who is coming."
I had no idea what compelled me to say this, but I had a feeling it was going to backfire.
"Hah" the man laughed. "No one can save you this time. You are coming with me." The man then grabbed my wrist tightly and began pulling me towards his car. I fought back for a while, but that only made his grip tighter. Just as I gave up I heard a voice behind me "Hey! Let go of her!" I heard someone yell. The man looked back and loosened his grip. I used this to my advantage and broke free. I ran back to the light in front of the theater.
That's where I saw a dark figure run towards the man. After that, I heard screams. At the front of the theater, I saw Dylan. I ran to him in tears and he pulled me into a tight embrace. "Were you the one who called out?" I asked, "Yes" he said stroking my hair. "But I am not the one who's beating that man's ass right now. That would be Max." he laughed.
I looked up at Dylan in confusion. "Max?" I questioned. "Yeah, I guess he didn't think my yelling would be effective, which it was by the way. He ran over and saw the opportunity to pick a fight. Which he loves to do." I buried my head into Dylan's chest and asked myself why Max would beat the man up. I was fine, and Dylan's strategy worked. Why the extra violence?
"I came out to look for you, you know. I heard about your little argument with Adyline. Your encounter with Scarlett didn't look too good either." Dylan said gazing down at me.
"Thank you." I said, tears beginning to form around my eyes. I don't know what would have happened if he didn't come. Where I would be right now. The thoughts were scaring me.
After minutes of silence, I heard footsteps approaching. Max was coming back to the theater and his hand was bruised. He looked at me and said "He was hired. That means someones after you. I didn't kill him because I am not an idiot. According to you I am an idiot, but you know, that's your opinion," he shrugged.
"What were you doing out here? Shouldn't you be apologizing to your girlfriend?" I asked. I was still angry with him and my hatred for him was only growing.
"Not that it's any of your business, but she is giving me the silent treatment thanks to you. I came out here to smoke. That's when I saw my simp of a brother calling for someone to 'let you go'. So on instinct, I had to kick his ass. I am not as bad as you think. You should be thanking me." Max said looking at me as if I were a small child in trouble.
"Wow, so you really messed it up and you're blaming your horrible boyfriend skills on me! You literally showed up late on your six month anniversary with another girl who smells like your cologne! Do you really think Adyline deserves that?! And I didn't need you to go fight anyone on any instinct!" I said fuming.
"You really are something else. I got Adyline a present. That's why I was late. Scarlett asked me to pick her up on the way back because she needed to talk to Kailyn. Nothing happened between us. I admit things have had happened in the past, but not now! She must have sprayed some of my cologne on herself in the car to get a reaction out of Adyline, but instead, she got a fist full of you! Scarlett messes with people and loves to get them to react. All you did was enable her! Maybe you should understand everything before getting stupid!" Max shouted.
He was getting irritated and Dylan began to notice this. Just as I was about to give my heated response Dylan interfered. "We should go Zara. I will drop you off." He then pulled me to the car and I found it necessary to flip Max off on the way. He looked at me with a scowl.
