Perfectly Perfect

"London City airport approaching. Prepare for landing." I hear over the intercom.

The announcement wakes me up and I look at the beautiful city through the window. I am half asleep, but still awake enough to take in the sight before me. Many cars are visible and so are large towers. I can feel the difference in London compared to America and we haven't even landed yet. There is a specific lightness and airiness I feel here. It is time to begin my new life.

The plane lands and I grab my duffel bag off the small shelf. I exit the plane and head to baggage claim. Once I grab my 2 very large suitcases I head over to meet my "family".

I had to look for about ten minutes, but I finally see a girl who looks similar to Adyline standing near two people who appear to be Mary and Dave Walsh. I give them a slight wave and Adyline rushes towards me, pulling me into an embrace.

"Zara! I am so glad you are finally here!" she says in a heavy British accent.

I almost forgot. If I wanted to blend in I would have to perfect the accent.

I laugh a little and say "Hello Adyline" in the best British accent I could imitate. Adyline laughs a little but doesn't break character. "Mom and dad have missed you so much!" she says. I turn to Dave and Mary and greet them both with individual hugs. They are amazing actors and almost make me feel at home.

We then walk over to their car and load my belongings into the trunk of their 2018 Chevy Tahoe. Once we get in Adyline says, "We need to work on your accent a bit, but don't worry we have got an hour and a half before we reach home. That should be plenty of time!" Everyone laughs including me.

The rest of the car ride was spent with us all laughing and attempting to perfect my accent. I must admit I was getting better with Adyline's help and Mary was also helping. Dave would occasionally laugh, but he mainly stayed focus on the road. After a while, I thought my accent was perfectly perfect.

For the first time in a long time, I felt welcome and completely comfortable. I asked questions and they answered. I cracked jokes and they laughed. It was perfect.

"We're homee" Dave says as we pulled into the lot of a beautiful Victorian home. "Finally!" sighed Adyline who had made it clear she was in a rush to use the bathroom. Once the car was put in park Adyline rushed out and into the house. Dave and Mary laughed and then helped me unload my things out of the trunk. We entered the house and I gasped. It was beautiful. I felt like it was straight out of a movie. My mansion had always felt so big and cold, but this place felt so cozy. There was a staircase going up upon entering and there was a little nook with books. The living room was very open and nicely decorated. I looked at Mary and said, "I love it!"

She smiled and replied with "I am glad sweetheart." She then showed me to my room which was even more spectacular. There was a bookshelf next to the queen bed and even a large dresser across from it. A small black desk sat in front of a window that had an amazing view of the architecture of the college. "Wow" I said astonished. "I never noticed how close you lived to Christ Church College."

Mary smiled and said "We. How close we live to Christ Church. You are part of our family now and we want the best for you!" She then walked over to me and gave me a hug.

"Wow these people really love hugs, I thought to myself. "But so do I".

Later that evening as I was finishing up unpacking Adyline walked into my room.

"Hey sis" she said.

"Hey" I responded.

"So how is unpacking going for you?" she giggled.

"Great haha. It's going great". As I said this there were piles of clothes surrounding me on the floor.

"Well, I am here to help in case you ever need it. We are 'twins' after all." As Adyline said the word "twins" I was shocked.

"Twin-n-n-s" I questioned.

"Yup" she said. "We are twin sisters who are both going to be freshman at Oxford's Christ Church College this year. You decided to go to highschool abroad with our Aunt in America since that school had an amazing science department. You are a political science major after all."

"Oh ok," I responded. Melissa never told me about this, but I guess it was good I wasn't going to be alone. Adyline also seemed to be an amazing person so I knew we were going to get along great.

"Well, I have got to go now. My boyfriend is going to take me to "The Bear". It's this really amazing pub close by! Want to come?" she asked.

"Uhm I am okay. I have some organizing to do" I laughed.

"Yeah I can see that" she giggled. "Well, maybe next time. I have to introduce you to him!"

I smiled as she walked out of my room. "Boyfriend" I thought. Of course she was in a relationship. I forgot that before I came along there lives were probably practically normal. They are FBI agents, but they didn't have to host the daughter of Theo Morgan. Did Adyline have to lie about her identity to her friends and her boyfriend? Was she going to have to lie about me too? I already knew the answer, but I couldn't shake the thought. "Of course she does. And so do her parents. It's part of their job." I sighed before continuing to organize my clothing that was still scattered on the floor.
