My "Bodyguard"

I spent the next couple of days in my room. They were spent trying to organize my thoughts and understand my situation. Melissa had called me last night to let me know that today my bodyguard was going to show up. Dave, Adyline, and Mary were all notified and told the plan. Mary and Dave were also told about my little incidents. I know that hearing about that happening to me upset them, but they didn't necessarily seem disappointed in me, just worried.

Anyways there were some issues with my chosen bodyguard so they had to send me someone based in England. I was really just hoping it was going to be someone I could get along with. Someone with no big secrets.

While pondering these thoughts I remembered that my bodyguard was going to have to live with us. "Dang it" I thought. "This is going to be nearly impossible to explain."

Just as I thought this the doorbell rang. He was here. I walked downstairs to greet my bodyguard. I also needed to talk to him and make a plan on what we would tell the others. When I opened the door though, it wasn't who I expected.

It was Maddox. As in Max's best friend Maddox. I was shocked to see him there and assumed he was there for something else. "Uh..hey Maddox?" I said almost questioning him.

"Hey..uhm..Sier..Zara" he stuttered.

"Oh my god" I thought. "He was about to say Sierra. He knows my name."

"Uhm what's up" I awkwardly spoke.

"May I come in?" he asked.

"Sure!" I responded leading him into the living room. Everyone was already in the kitchen so when he walked in Mary and Dave greeted him. Adyline however seemed just as surprised as me. She stood there watching him in pure disbelief.

"You might already know this, but I guess I am your new bodyguard.." Maddox spoke.

"Oh..cool" I said.

I knew that this was going to cause issues. Max and Maddox were supposed to be best friends and I just found out that Maddox was in the FBI. Was Maddox pretending to be Max's friend just to get closer to him? Was he just another agent on the Max and Dylan Payne case? I was extremely shocked and confused as to how this was going to be explained to everyone. When I met Maddox it was obvious we didn't know each other. How was this going to work?

For the next couple of hours, I spent some time talking to Maddox and trying to understand how this all happened. He was an agent on the Max and Dylan just as I had assumed. He also was quite smart. Together we had come up with a plan and a cover-up story.

We were going to say that Maddox and I went to the same high school in the U.S. We were friends as freshmen, but Maddox moved to England. When we went to the movies he seemed familiar, but neither of us could remember where from. A few days later Maddox called me and told me that he remembered me from highschool. We spent the day reconnecting.

Everyone would probably be confused by this story and suspect something until we covered it up with a sob story. We would tell everyone that Max had a secret. His mother had kicked him out and he really needed a home, especially for college. Since I knew him I offered to let him stay at the Walsh house with the permission of Mary and Dave. Maddox said everyone already believed he had family issues because when he had come to work on the Max and Dylan case from America he had made up a cover story about how horrible his mother was. That story would help us solidify the effectiveness of this one.

After a long day of planning, Mary showed Maddox to his room. He settled in before coming to my room. We talked some more and to be honest, Maddox was perfect. I couldn't say anything yet though.

He even decided to talk to Adyline just to explain everything to her. He was actually a truly caring person and showed that to me. He cared about getting Adyline comfortable with the situation and even making sure that we created a realistic bond. It had only been a day, but I felt so normal around him. He had proved himself to be better than any of the other guys I had met in England so far, especially Max and Dylan.

The real show was going to be tomorrow though. Tomorrow was the first day of college. It was time to start playing the game with my new piece.
