Spell

The next morning I wake up to the sound of Adyline knocking on my door. "Can I come in?" she asks through the wood.

I roll out of bed and respond "Sure, come in". I can't help but sound very tired.

Adyline walks in with an envelope in hand and says "This is for you. You've got some mail." She then lays it on my dresser. "Also, last night was super fun! I am going to the theaters today to watch 'Spell'. It's supposed to be scary, but I'll be the judge of that. Dylan, Max, and some other friends will be coming. All of which will be attending Oxford so I think it would be good if you came to get some exposure. I also want you to get comfortable with the environment so no one gets suspicious."

"Right suspicious" I thought. Someone had already caught on and I couldn't help, but think he was the suspicious one, not me. His behavior raised many flags of something deeper, but I couldn't say anything to Adyline until I was sure. I needed more information about him.

"Sure, I'll go" I stated. I wasn't really in the mood, but I had to continue my little mission. Adyline was also right about me needing to get to know some people because there was no way I was going to stick with her if she was going to be with Max all the time.

"Oh my god really!" she squealed. "I thought I was going to have to sit here and convince you, but it's so great that you're down! Be ready by 9 pm. The movie starts at 10, but we have to get there early to get the best seats. The theater is also 15 minutes away so it's gonna take some time."

Once she had left I reached for the letter on my dresser and began opening it. It had the same gold seal as my mother's letters so I assumed it was from her. It read:

After reading the letter a couple of times I grabbed a pen and paper and began to draft my response. An hour later my letter was ready for sending. It basically thanked her for what she was doing for me and discussed my father's campaign. I also asked a few questions regarding Jace and Betsy, like if I would see them soon. After that, I looked at the time and saw that it was already 1 pm. I walked downstairs, got breakfast, and watched Netflix/read until about 7:30 pm. Now it was time to get ready for the theaters.
