Suspicions

Soon I woke up to the sound of the door opening. I looked out the window to see the Walsh house lit by two lanterns. The darkness was very heavy and the street was not visible. Dylan walked me to the door before hugging me goodbye. I was hesitant at first, now that I knew his secrets he wasn't someone I really wanted to be around.

As I walked inside I noticed Adyline sitting on the couch. When she saw me she ran towards me and brought me into a big hug. "I am so glad you're safe!" she exclaimed. She looked like she had been worried for hours and honestly, I felt bad. I wouldn't have gone if it was going to make her feel like this. "How was it?" she asked trying to put a smile on her face.

Only if she knew how it was. The secrets I had just uncovered had me absolutely shocked. "Oh, it was great!" I said. I couldn't tell her what happened. She would panic and probably insist to go with me anywhere I went.

"Oh" she sighed. "That's good!"

I sensed some sadness in her voice so I decided to press on. "What's wrong? I questioned.

"Oh nothing" she smiled.

"Adylineee tell mee" I pressed.

"Ugh fine, but promise me you won't be mad for not telling you earlier. I have a lot of things I need to tell you." she pleaded.

"I won't be mad, I promise." I voiced.

Adyline took a deep breath and then said, "Dylan is my ex-boyfriend. I dated him before Max and as you know I work for the FBI. My mission was to watch those two. They had lots of suspicious activity and we needed someone to keep tabs on them. I decided it would be me to take on the task since I already went to school with them and Dylan was my boyfriend at the time anyway. I know I may seem like a bad person for doing that to my boyfriend, but I had suspicions. I was actually in love for the first time and when he would act weird it concerned me. I was shocked when they offered me the mission and as I took notice of small things he did I knew something was up. That's when I put in a suspicious activity request to further his case in the FBI. It was accepted and as more people were told to watch him, he killed the ones he caught. Turns out Dylan Payne assisted in the murder of his mother. His father and him killed her, and Max is still not aware. Their father has disappeared and we have no trace of him. Anyone who crosses or raises Dylan's suspicions gets killed by him. He hasn't killed anyone for a while now though. Max on the other hand isn't as bad. He has killed one person, but it was merely self-defense in a sense. That's a story for another time though. Either way, Max is probably the safer one to be around, Max has good motives for protecting you while Dylan doesn't."

I took a breath and said. "Adyline there's something I didn't tell you." I sighed before saying, "Someone tried killing me today on our date. For some reason, Max was there and he saved me. Dylan kind of just walked off on a phone call and the man thought it was a good time to strike. I also know that the phone call was with his dad because Max and Dylan were arguing afterward about it. They thought I was still unconscious due to some type of drug the man injected me with. I should also mention that Max killed the man for me. When he did that I began to notice that he may really be the good one. Dylan was kind of giving me psychopath vibes to be honest. I heard some things I probably shouldn't have."

"Oh my goodness!" Adyline gasped. "I am so sorry! This is all my fault. I shouldn't have introduced them to you Especially Dylan. I just didn't want them getting suspicious of you, but now you are in more danger and it's my fault."

"No Adyline. It's not your fault! I am in a tough situation because of my decisions. I could've rejected him that day, but I tend to do the opposite of everyone's suggestions. It's just how I am, very stubborn. Besides, Melissa is sending me a bodyguard soon that is going to pretend to be my boyfriend. Maybe Dylan will back off." I responded.

"Oh ok. Be careful though, Dylan is going to get jealous and you need to make it a smooth transition. Don't leave any room for him to question the bodyguard. I still feel horrible and I also have to let you know that since I am still on the Max and Dylan Payne case, I am going to have to interview you in the morning."

"Oh ok, that's fine. I am just going to head to bed now, I am super tired." I yawned before giving Adyline a hug and walking up the stairs.

"Goodnight!" she whispered.

I then walked into my room to see someone standing facing the window. They seemed to be looking out at the college. I was completely frightened and I felt my heart racing. The person then spoke without turning around.

"Hello, Sierra...." said the voice.
